English language teaching is very important because of the global status of English. English language teaching is a process that requires great efforts on the part of all the participants. Classroom interactions, activities, textbooks are the most important elements of teaching process for the aims and objectives of a course. Main objective of this study is to discover English language teaching skills in primary schools of union council Kumb Taluka Kotdiji, District Khairpur Mir’s. The Questionnaire was prepared for teachers to explore the different aspects of teaching English skills and teachers’ skills, (Training, teacher qualifications regarding English, English teaching methodologies). The questionnaire identifies teacher training and instructional materials. A sample of 20 teachers (both male and female) were selected from different schools of union council Kumb Taluka Kotdiji, District Khairpur Mir’s. The aim of the study is to investigate the role of the English language and its impacts on the professional mobility of teachers in Pakistan. English is considered the backbone of educational and professional mobility in Pakistan and at the global level as it reflects its importance for academic and professional success. An Analysis of Language Teacher Competencies Among Novice Teachers

One of the characteristics in 4IR is workplace improvement. In the institution of higher learning, a good ecosystem for learners involves having competent teachers. The competencies for language teachers may differ from that of non-language teachers. This is because language is a complex skill to be taught but may not be easily mastered by learners. In the language teacher competency framework, three main competencies are identified and they are attributes, practice and knowledge. Language teachers with positive attributes will be motivated to develop good classroom practices using the knowledge he/she has. This study looks into the perception of future language teachers on their priorities for teacher competencies. Respondents were chosen randomly from novice teachers. The instrument used for this study is a survey and open-ended questions. The questionnaire has two sections; Section A is the demographic profile, and Section B looks at teacher attributes. Respondents' perception on teaching skills and how to improve language skills will be obtained from the responses to the given open-ended questions. This mixed mode research will use both quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative data will be analysed using SPSS. ANALYSIS OF PEDAGOGICAL SKILLS BEING PRACTICED BY ENGLISH TEACHERS AT SECONDARY LEVEL

ABSTRACT The present study is a comparative study of public and private institutes regarding the teaching practices and pedagogical skills of English teachers and their effectiveness in developing the communication skills of their students. The major objectives were to analyze and compare teaching methods used by English teachers in public and private schools and evaluate their efficacy in developing active English language skills in the students. The population of this research consisted of 100 English language teachers from both public and private institutes at the secondary level in south Punjab. The sample included 50 English teachers from private sectors and 50 English teachers from public schools. A simple random technique was adopted to get the results of the research. Two questionnaires, one for the teachers and one for the students, and a classroom observation checklist were designed to accumulate research data. A Five-point rating scale was used to design the questionnaires; the data was collected and tabulated using techniques like descriptive, inferential and t-test. The results of the study were analyzed via SPSS software. The researcher concluded that teachers in private schools practice student-centered teaching approaches. They arrange group work and pair work activities. The dealing of the teachers with students was friendly, and they showed good attitudes toward students. In contrast, English teachers use traditional teaching methods in government schools, and there was no innovation in their teaching style. A huge communication gap was found between the students and teachers in government schools. Teachers were concerned only with delivering a lecture and were completely careless about students' academic learning and progress. Similarly, after analyzing and interpreting the data, recommendations were suggested.
Practices of Elementary School Teachers for Developing English Language Competencies among Students

The school curriculum introduced in 2006 was a major curricular reform in the history of Pakistan as it emphasized on the standards set for students in achieving essential competencies. This study explored teachers‟ practices with respect to the competency-based learning outcomes embedded in the National Curriculum for English Language 2006. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with a purposive sample comprising of ten elementary English language teachers from public schools in Lahore. The interview guide was based on competencies and standards of English language provided in the National Curriculum for English Language 2006 related to the elementary level. The purpose of this descriptive analysis is to evaluate international profile of language teachers‟ training programs, their significance, effectiveness and the ground realities of Pakistan in mentioned areas. The study describes the European standards of language teachers and their training necessities, the problems that are faced by Pakistani English Language Learners, the ground realities related to the phenomenon of English Language teaching, the need for the effective language teachers training and some recommendations and suggestions in this regard. It is suggested to the concerned authorities to invest sufficient capital to facilitate the process of teaching and learning English language. It is strongly advised to take valiant decisions in order to improve the quality of English language teaching and learning in Pakistan. Sustained teachers‟ training programs are one of the most effective stratagems in the present scenario because those who dare to teach must never cease learning.

Study on Certified and Uncertified English Teachers Pedagogic Competence

The problem of education and learning is a fairly complex problem where many factors influence it. One of these factors is the teacher. In an increasingly modern era such as in the era of industry 4.0, teachers must be required to be professional. Talking about teacher professionalism as mandated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 14 of 2005 concerning teachers and lecturers, teachers as professionals are required to have academic qualifications, competencies, teacher certificates, be physically and mentally healthy and have the ability to realize the goals of national education. But the fact is not like these regulations. There are still many teachers who do not fulfill academic qualifications and even certified teachers do not master competency standards properly. As a result, teachers are not competence to carry out and manage the learning process. From the four of teacher competency standards, this paper aims to analyze pedagogic competence of English teachers because pedagogic competence is directly linked with the teachers' competence in managing the learning of students. This paper belongs to comparative study. The subjects of this study were the certified and uncertified English teachers at SMP 1 Rao Selatan, Pasaman regency. In this preliminary stage study, the data was collected from the questionnaire as well as the interview. The results of the data analysis showed that the pedagogic competence of certified teachers is better than uncertified teachers especially in the indicators of the development of student potential, but in several sub-competencies the competence of certified and uncertified English teachers do not vary.

Being a language teacher means they are not only fluent in using the target language but also possess competence in the study of language. Hence, linguistic knowledge is one essential skill a language teacher needs to possess. Using a descriptive qualitative research design of the content analysis, this article aimed to investigate the linguistic competence of an English teacher and its implementation in the classroom. The recordings of online classroom sessions of an English for Academic Purposes course were observed. The teacher, as the main object of the study, was also interviewed to enrich understanding through open-ended questions.
