Effectiveness of Technology Based Online Teaching Pedagogy During Covid-19

International Journal of Scientific Research in Science and Technology, 2021

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of technology based online teaching paradigm. The recent unprecedented outbreak of coronavirus did really narrate the harsh realities of life that human beings should adapt to. One among them was the need to adapt to techno-savvy accomplishments. With the outbreak of this epidemic, there has been significant surge in the usage of all digital platforms like language apps, virtual tutorials, video conferencing tools and online learning software’s. All schools are shut and nearly 1.2 billion children are forced to adapt to this harsh reality of online digital platform. Some believe that this online platform would develop a new hybrid model of education with some significant technological benefits, while some others pose the challenges involved in going digitalized. However the students are the ultimate victims who are going to face the consequences of online teaching pedagogy, be it favorable or unfavorable. Thus this study aims to find out the acceptance and effectiveness of online teaching from the part of students. The reflections and viewpoints of students are analyzed to find out the level of confidence and acceptance with regard to large scale online teaching. The test results prove that an established and completed system of IT infrastructure and internet connectivity for all students could pave a way for continuous online learning in the coming years.

The use of Digital Educational Resources in the Process of Teaching and Learning in Pandemic by COVID-19

Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality, 2020

The Coronavirus advance is forcing schools and universities to revise their teaching methodologies. With the closure of the institutions, thousands of teachers and millions of students will have to find new ways of teaching and learning overnight, which will be a huge challenge. We cannot expect everyone to suddenly adapt to these new times. We are aware of the numerous Internet connection problems, but it is a great time to reinvent ourselves and build the courage to test the use of technological tools already available to structure alternatives in the distance education format. Thinking outside the box can help mitigate the momentary problem, as well as collaborate to strengthen digital culture and move towards a new education. The good news is that many teachers have been putting aside prejudices and are being resilient, seeking to understand the potential of available resources, not shying away from seeking and implementing technological solutions that before the virus were seen as secondary and have now become standard tools to teach synchronous and asynchronous classes, share content, correct assignments, answer questions and exchange knowledge. In the beginning, many activities that were previously carried out exclusively in person took a longer time when they started to be performed online. But as the virtual became the new real, students became more engaged and plunged headlong into relevant online learning experiences. Through applications and software, classes continued according to the school calendar. This study aimed to understand how teachers adapted to digital resources to face the limitations caused by the pandemic. It also intends to understand the impact of digital resources on the quality of teaching, as well as on motivation and academic success.

New digital technologies have been integrated, to some extent, into the education system. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a sudden and strong expansion of educational institutions followed by great digital infrastructure investments in order to achieve the educational goals. In this sense, the experience of students, teachers and educational managers have contributed significantly to the further development and modernization of the educational process. In this article, we intend to identify and analyse several aspects from the perspective of the role played by digital technologies and the Internet in the teaching-learning process during the pandemic. Therefore, in order to answer the research questions, 182 Romanian students from several universities with different study profiles were interviewed. Thus, in this article, we aimed to emphasize both the benefits of digital technologies for students and the problems that they faced in the online learning environment. In the end, on the basis of the results obtained it is concluded that the students exploited the benefits of digital technologies during the online courses in order to meet their learning objectives and developed a range of skills.

EVALUTING ONLINE LEARNING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN GORONTALO DISTRICT

This research evaluates online learning applied during the COVID-19 pandemic at junior high schools in Gorontalo District. It takes perspectives from available resources, implementation processes, achievements, and the influences on student character, knowledge, and skill changes. This evaluative research was using the CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, and Outcome) model. Research data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method made up of five steps: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, triangulation, and conclusion verification. Online learning at junior high schools in Gorontalo District had adhered to the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Education and culture of the Republic of Indonesia and Gorontalo Regent Regulation. Based on the input aspects, embracing human resources, facilities and infrastructures, and funding, all schools had adequate resources for online learning implementation. And yet, some factors came in the way of online learning. For example, as regards human resources, teachers did not understand how to use technology in online learning, and several teachers did not have smartphones or laptops. Attributed to students, students could not understand materials, and some could not afford required gadgets due to family economy condition. Additionally, some parents could not help students understand materials and assist them during learning processes. These problems led to declined online learning program products (student learning achievements). Student achievements were worse than that in previous years. However, student learning competencies developed significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Online Learning Implementation during the Covid-19 Pandemic: Teachers’ Perception and Students’ Responses

Jurnal Pendidikan Indonesia, 2022

Technology plays a vital role in education, most currently due to the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing educators to work and students to study from home. This study aims to analyses teachers' perception and students' responses toward the online learning implementation which have undergone for more than one year. The study utilized mixed-method research of quantitative and qualitative, which was conducted by a survey and interview. It involved 37 teachers comprising the full-time and part-time teachers and eight representative students from 4-year levels. There were two instruments used to collect the data, namely questionnaire and interview guide. The findings were analyzed descriptively. First, the results from the questionnaires were presented quantitatively by calculating the percentage and then determined by using theoretical ideal reference assessment. The result of this study proved that most teachers generally had a good perception of the implementation of online learning. Additionally, the students mainly had good responses toward the implementation of online learning. Thus, in the year ahead, this kind of learning is becoming an appropriate model that needs to be implemented maximally with better treatment, especially in a virtual meeting via more synchronous platforms.

Challenges faced in teaching learning process by the students and teachers during the pandemic: A cross-sectional study

PANACEA JOURNAL OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, 2022

Background: The COVID pandemic has caused drastic changes in education systems in the world. The government enforced the restriction of all the educational institutions all over the country and also throughout the world. Due to shut down of institutions, the mode of learning shifted from on-site, in person learning to online, virtual mode. Thanks to the advancement of the technology and sciences, we were able to connect students to their professional world virtually. The study intends to acknowledge the student's mentality while attending online classroom and also highlighting the challenges faced due to the online education. Materials and Methods: The study was based on descriptive cross-sectional study and conducted through consented online survey where forms were distributed via social media. A total of 320 participants consented for the survey and willingly participated for it. Results: The survey showed that though the online mode of study was helpful in keeping up with the education, barriers can lead to obstruction for the fluidity of education. Conclusion: We should come up with more innovative ideas to connect students and professors with minimal barriers between them.
