The basic conceptual idea of logistics is the need to adapt the company to an ever-changing market situation, while spending a minimum of funds in these conditions. The concept of logistics is a system of views on the rationalization of economic activity by optimizing material flows. The paper investigates the change of the main indicators of the functioning of the supply chain, depending on the organization of distribution of the material flow. The supply systems of food products that form the consumer basket at the stage of distribution is considered. The conceptual schemes of freight flow distribution with and without distribution center is presented. The field research was conducted to determine and init ial data were collected. The paper investigate the functioning of the supply chain in two cases: in a situation "proposed scenario" and in a situation "without a project". The situation "existing scenario" implies that no action to change the parame...
By coordinating their activities, companies aim to provide available products for their clients in the right place and time. Logistics activities have always been essential for companies, and therefore the logistics of the business and the management of the supply chain is a synthesis of many concepts, principles and methods from some of the most traditional fields of marketing, manufacture, accountability and transport, and also of the disciplines of mathematics and economy. This paper deals with the main aspects of logistics, business and management of the supply chain, and with the main aspects of the strategies and competitive incomes of the company. These aspects include transportation, inventory, processing, purchase, storage, treatment, packing, the standards of customer service and production. We have also described the role of the marketing of logistics as a system of planning which guarantees that the order will be executed in time, in the fastest way possible and with a low cost. The effective management of distribution channels affects the firms to realize an efficient process of distribution, in distributing the final products from the producer to the last consumer and in this way it helps these firms to grow their market and sales, and built strong relations with their clients. This paper includes empirical data that were collected by questionnaires and interviews, and subsidiary

During the recent two decades, goods flow has been tremendously increased, even though the amount of goods remains at the steady state. Increased variety of goods, the just-in-time delivery system, low load rate, specialization and centralization of production systems, globalization of marketing and seasonal variations are among the main challenges of logistics system which may lead to the necessity of developing effective logistics in the sector. Effective logistics and technologies are a critical success factors for both manufacturers and retailers (Brimer, 1995; Tarantilis et al., 2004). Effective logistics requires delivering the right product, in the right quantity, in the right condition, to the right place, at the right time, for the right cost (Aghazadeh, 2004) and it has a positive impact on the success of the partners in the supply chain (Brimer, 1995).

In the conditions of the active development of the market of logistic services, the growth of the cost of fuel and lubricants, as well as the increase of environmental requirements for the operation of the motor transport park an important reserve for improving the efficiency of enterprises and reducing the anthropogenic impact on the environment is to optimize their commodity flows. The purpose of the article is to develop a model of optimization of commodity flows of enterprises of the bakery industry, which allows to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and products with minimization of economic and environmental costs. Methodology. The methodological basis of investigation was a linear programming method adapting the transport task to the specifics of the baking industry. Authors developed the model of optimization the commodity flows of the enterprises is based on the criteria of the efficiency of the logistic using the system of indicators: economic (costs for distribution and delivery of products) and environmental (costs for reducing the anthropogenic load on the environment). It is proposed to determine the optimal sales channels of products based on the integral indicator of the efficiency of organization of commodity flows, which includes economic and environmental efficiency, weighted by the factors of importance established by expert way. Results. The developed logistic model of optimization of commodity flow has been tested on a number of bakery enterprises. As a result, an optimal plan for delivering products has been formed taking into account the economic and environmental factors. The advantage of the model is the ability to apply it to the initial flow of material flows and reverse flow (reversible logistics, or logistics of bread, bakery and flour products). The practical application of the developed model at the enterprises of the bakery industry will reduce the logis-tical and environmental costs, ensure the reliability of deliveries, reduce the human impact from mobile sources, meet demand, taking into account the requirements of consumers regarding the quality and environmental friendliness of products and increase its competitiveness. Due to a growing interest in locally produced food (LPF), there is a tendency of promoting local food systems. The objective of this study was to investigate the existing flow of LPF from producers to consumers and develop a coordinated and efficient distribution system for producers in Halland region, Sweden. An integrated logistics network (ILN) embracing producers, retailers, a collection centre (CC) and a distribution centre (DC) was proposed. Data collection, location analysis and route optimization analysis were conducted. Geographic information system (GIS) and Route LogiX software were utilized for the analyses. Four scenarios of food distribution were identified and analyzed. When compared to the existing system, the best scenario improved transport distance, time and number of routes up to 93%, 92% and 87% respectively. The distribution of LPF was integrated into large scale food distribution channel (LSFDC) and this could increase the sustainability of local food system.

Competition in the field of logistics and individual transport services requires the constant analysis of logistics chains and their individual links. Given analysis enables implementation of new approaches to logistics companies and networks trade marketing in the offtake of certain types of goods. Industrial and commercial enterprises have to expand their trade and economic relations with other regions with the aim to provide the necessary sales volumes in the domestic market of regions and to go beyond it. Integration of the country's economy and the free trade policy orientation greatly simplify the task of establishing the free trade and economic relations between producers and consumers. However, there is a question of how quickly and efficiently; with minimal logistics costs, the goods at the right region of the customer should be delivered. The experiment on a one-storey closed warehouse No 3 of Brovary "UVK Ukraine", where a process of the crossdocking warehou...

Purpose: Understanding how the structure affects logistical performance and food security is critical in the supply chains of perishable foods (PFSC). This research proposes a system dynamics model to analyze the effects of structures: lean, agile, flexible, responsive and resilient, in the overall performance and of each agent of the PFSC.Design/methodology/approach: Using a system dynamics model and design of experiments it is studied how the different structures and their combination, affect the behavior of inventory, transportation, responsiveness, efficiency, availability and quality-safety of the fresh fruits supply chain and each echelon.Findings: The studies of supply chains have been done for each structure in an independent way; investigations are scarce in supply chains of perishable foods. The structures modeled in this research do not show the better performance in all the metrics of the chain, neither in all agents for each structure. The above implies the presence of ...

The Supply Chain Network Design (SCND) with perishability is an active research topic. The Agri-fresh Food Supply Chain (AFSC) is a relevant topic to SCND and this study aims to model a new AFSC for a real-world case study. Regarding the traditional AFSC, the geographically dispersed small farmers transport their product individually to market for selling. This leads to a higher transportation cost, which is the major cause of farmers' low profitability. This paper formulates a traditional product movement model to represent the existing AFSC. The concept of sharing economic approach is employed by the aggregate and collaborative transportation of products to minimize transportation inefficiency. This paper proposes an aggregate product movement with the vehicle routing model to redesign an AFSC for a case study in Iran based on the data of ETKA Company-the largest domestic agri-fresh food supply chain. A four-echelon, multi-period, Mixed Integer Non-Linear Programming (MINLP) approach for the proposed location-inventory-routing model is formulated for perishable products via considering the clustering of farmers to minimize the total distribution cost. According to the comparison analysis, the location-inventoryrouting model is effective and leads to a reduction of 33% in total distribution cost compared to the present supply chain.
