ISO 9001 Quality System: An Interpretation for the University

The paper provides an interpretation of the ISO 9001 model for quality assurance in a university environment. The objective is to prepare a framework for successful documentation and implementation of a quality system based on the ISO 9000 international standards in education. The systems approach to quality assurance and the concept of a university production system furnish the basis for a consistent interpretation of all twenty elements of ISO 9001 (1994). An interpreted quality system can then be established in any department, faculty or university seeking explicit quality assurance, i.e. providing confidence to customers that their requirements for quality are met.

A Framework for Implementing ISO 9000 and Total Quality Culture in Higher Education

— This paper presents a framework for implementing ISO 9000 total quality culture for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The understanding and practices level, as well as the relationship with organizational performance also presented. The preliminary data were collected through questionnaire approach, and respondent selection is based on simple random sampling methodology. A total of 73 (87.6%) valid data were analyzed. The result indicate 20% of the respondents do not understand or unsure about ISO 9000. From descriptive analysis and correlation coefficient testing, the study found the average level of understanding and practice levels is moderate. The coefficient correlation (r) indicates a strong relationship between the level of understanding and the level of practice for ISO 9000with r = .804, n = 73 (p<.001). Framework of implementing ISO 9000 and total quality culture in higher education: A concept

This paper presents a framework for implementing ISO 9000 total quality culture for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The preliminary data were collected through questionnaire. A total of 73 (87.6%) valid data were analyzed. From descriptive analysis and correlation coefficient testing, the study found the average level of understanding and practice levels is moderate. The coefficient correlation (r) indicates a strong relationship between the level of understanding (LoU) and the level of practice for ISO 9000 with r = .804, n = 73 (p<.001). The study also disclosed that it is a significant correlation exists between the level of understanding QMS ISO 9000 and the level of practice, the value of r = 0.789 (p<0.001). Finally, the study shows strong significant relationships between the level of understanding and practice of the achievement performance (OP) of UUM on the value of r =.796, (p <.001). The study suggested ISO 9000 and Total Quality framework in Higher Education, including-customer requirements, unity of purpose and ISO implementation, organization performance, and continuous improvement.

Complying Total Quality Management through ISO 9001 UPS Requirements and interpretations in Higher Educational Institutions

This paper study about the, overall improvement of quality through ISO 9001 certificate in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The paper explains about the ISO 9001 requirements along with UPS terms and ISO 9001 interpretations, with the higher education system. The Effect of ISO 9001 Quality Management System on Education Institutions (A Case Study of Ronaki Duhok Education Company in Iraq)

In this study, the ISO Quality Management System and the benefits of the standards of this system to the education sector are exemplified through two high schools. These standards are used in the first high school in the article which examines the benefits of ISO 9001 applications to educational institutions, but not in the other. The general purpose of the study is to explain the benefits and effects of the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System standards to all ISO certified training institutions in the world. In the article, a comparative study has been carried out over 2 different high schools affiliated to the Ronaki Duhok Education Company and the compliance of the standards and the benefits are provided to the readers. According to the results of the analysis, it has been revealed with examples that ISO 9001: 2015 contributes to education institutions in many positive ways.

Conformance on Quality Management System of One State College in the Philippines as Basis for ISO Certification

This study sought to determine the quality management system of the Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONESCOST) as basis for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Certification. The descriptive method of research was used in this study. It utilized the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Requirements Checklist and the Questionnaires on the Attitudes towards ISO 9001. The study utilized a descriptive research design.. Findings revealed that the attitude of administrators, teaching personnel and administrative staff’ towards ISO 9001 in terms of benefits, challenges, recommendations and standards did not differ significantly. Findings further revealed that the employees have mostly positive perceptions of ISO 9001, resulting in positive attitudes in the workplace. It is clear that ISO 9000 Quality Management System and Total Quality Management have an extensive literature. However, it is observed that the literature principally focuses on implementation consequences of them. In this study, ISO 9000 Quality Management System certification process in a faculty of a Turkish public university is taken into consideration. However, the study focuses on not only consequences of taking this certification but also its' triggers and processes. To examine these triggers, processes and consequences, data collection methods of the study were semi-structured interviews and unstructured participative observation. In addition, extensive amount of document was used to make triangulation.
