Teachers’ Experiences on the Use of Google Classroom

Technology has impacted in most of the sectors, including education field. Nowadays, many schools have incorporated technology through the utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into the learning. The use of platforms such as Google Classroom is one of the ways to fit the best classroom practices. This study reveals the teacher's perception on the use of Google Classroom as a learning media. The qualitative research design which applies interview method is carried out. Seven high school teachers in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia, who have actively integrated Google Classroom in their teaching for at least 1 year became the participants. Findings showed that teachers use it as a facilitation tool for managing students' tasks, organizing classroom and accommodating students' interaction. In general, teachers perceived the use of Google Classroom was very helpful to conduct their virtual classroom. However, teachers stated that they needed to maximize other features of Google Classroom as they hadn't explored all which would surely bring benefits for their professional development.
An Analysis of Students Perception on the Use of Google Classroom in English Language Learning

The study's goal was to find out how students at SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Masilam felt about using Google Classroom to learn English and how easy it was to use. Google Classroom is one of the learning media. Google Classroom is a well-known tool in the education sector, particularly at the collegiate level. Google Classroom is a new application that used as an online learning media especially in English teaching learning. The objective of this study is to investigate the students' responses on the use of Google Classroom as the online learning media on English lessons in Vocational high school using a mixed method to collect data from 11th grade students of the Multimedia Program at SMKN 10 Malang. The result of this study showed that the students' responses on the use of Google Classroom in English lessons was positive, and it indicates that Google Classroom is suitable and useful on English lesson but with some limitations: (1) speaking and listening activities was quite hard to do and (2) engaging classroom interaction was quite difficult. The implication is that Google Classroom can be used in English lessons as long as the teachers design the lesson properly, give clear instructions, and make a good environment for the class.

Online learning has become an alternative for schools and any other education programs, since the unexpected situation due to the pandemic. Various online tools are provided for this virtual learning. One of the most popular tools used by the teachers is Google Classroom. This research was aimed to determine teachers' perception on using Google Classroom as online learning platform at Pondok Pesantren Sumatera Thawalib Parabek. The type of this research was descriptive quantitative. The data were teacher's responses on the interview questions, checklist, and questionnaire. These data were collected from 5 teachers of second grade students at Pondok Pesantren Sumatera Thawalib Parabek. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The finding shows that 71% of teachers' perceptions are categorized as positive percentage. This finding indicated that teachers' have positive perception on using Google Classroom at Pondok Pesantren Sumatera Thawalib.

Technology has gained importance in all stages of education yet educators have been unable to figure out which of the many available technological tools best fit their classroom practices. Google Classroom is one such tool that is free of cost and has gained popularity within a short span of time. The main purpose of the study is to assess teachers’ perception on the effectiveness of Google Classroom. The study is carried out through a qualitative research design. The sample of the study, which uses semi-structured interview method, consists of 12 higher education teachers who have implemented Google Classroom for at least one semester in their classroom. The data acquired has been put through a comprehensive analysis by coding and categorizing the data through NVivo. This study was aimed to investigate the student’s perceptions towards the use of Google Classroom. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Aek Natas. The research was descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research was thirty-one students of SMAN 1 Aek Natas grade X have been using Google Classroom for teaching English. The results shows that Google Classroom is being helped for the students for study during this pandemic. The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of Google Classroom Platform of learning at the teacher education level. Web-Based Learning Environment Inventory (WEBLEI) (Chang and Fisher 1998, 2003) and Google Classroom Evaluation Survey was used in this study. The sample of 60 students consisting of both males and females was collected from one college of education in Jammu city, where teaching-learning process was being conducted using the Google Classroom setup. Data analysis revealed that students could access the learning activities easily, they could communicate with other students in their subject electronically, they could decide when they wanted to learn, and they could work at their own pace. Results also showed that the students could regularly access online resources and they had the autonomy to ask their tutor what they did not understand. Students experienced a sense of satisfaction and achievement and they felt at ease in working collaboratively with other students. The students were also happy to print lectures and exercise materials from resources uploaded by their teachers. Responses to the Google Classroom Evaluation survey showed that the teachers were able to give better individual attention and students developed a group feeling in such a classroom setup. Students also felt that learning through the Google classroom was not boring and it was not a waste of time. They found it to be an effective medium of studying.
