Increasing Communicative Competence for New Challenges and Opportunities of Industry 4.0
Proceedings of the First International Conference on Applied Science and Technology (iCAST 2018), 2020
The implementation of Industry 4.0 potentially generates social changes especially on the challenges and opportunity for the human resources with regard to competitiveness, flexibility and adaptability. The growing industrial context still requires soft skills such as selforganization, teamwork, and communication skills to increase. Furthermore, ability to communicate in foreign language is urgent as media of technology development and transfer. On the other hand, lack of foreign language proficiency may become the major problem in developing communicative competence, especially for Indonesian students who have large cultural gap between native language and the target-language which may cause bigger challenge to speak English as a foreign language. But in this study the influence of cultural aspects, intercultural communicative competence, was employed to increase learners' communication skills. The research finding showed that most learners indicated their effort to transfer the message in their limitation of communicative competence by negotiating the meaning of words and neglecting the accuracy of the produced sentences although there is possibly lack of language proficiency. The chosen communication strategy was correlated with message reduction, fluency oriented and non-verbal communications strategies. These become influential input to improve teaching and learning foreign language, focusing on developing communicative competence.
Awareness Analysis Of Industry 4.0
2020
Industry 4.0 is a new disruptive (r)evolution that not only affects the production systems of companies but also affects the society as a whole. This new revolution brings several new benefits to firms, such as; a more flexible production system, individual production, digital value chain, new business models, resource, and energy efficiency. Therefore, it is very important for firms to be aware of the Industry 4.0. In this study, the Industry 4.0 awareness of the firms located in Ġzmir and Manisa is investigated. Moreover, a chi-square analysis is conducted in order to determine the relationship between firm size and awareness of Industry 4.0's terms and R&D budget of firms and awareness of Industry 4.0's terms.
Research of Industry 4.0 Awareness: A Case Study of Turkey
Economics and Business, 2018
Rapid development of technology, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, has fuelled the concept of Industry 4.0 among all types of businesses across the globe. This has driven sustainable growth for those businesses as well as promoted economic prosperity in the countries where they operate in. In view of this information, it is of absolute importance that the entire business landscape in Turkey avails itself to greater awareness and education about the benefits of embracing a comprehensive Industry 4.0 philosophy. It is also important to shed the light on the problems these businesses may face in transition from the old industrial philosophies to the new philosophy of Industry 4.0. Therefore, the aim of this study is to measure the level of Industry 4.0 awareness among businesses in Turkey. The research also seeks to determine how targeted Industry 4.0 educational programs and policies vary in relation to the demographic characteristics among some business operators in Turkey. A multiple case study design governed this entire research. Thus, views and in-depth data from 32 companies based in Turkey were collected by questionnaire and subsequently analysed in a detailed format. At the end of the study, the findings revealed that Industry 4.0 awareness differed depending on the employees' levels of education. The researchers also discovered that the status or extent of relationships these companies had with foreign partners abroad has a significant impact on the awareness levels of Industry 4.0.

consumers, resulting in a greater competitiveness in the market and making the differentiator. This work is one of the first surveys that provides an extensive analysis and review of 110 publications that appear from 1/01/12 to 20/02/17. The purpose of the study is to analyze categorically recent advances through qualitative and segmentation methods allowing to reveal trends and areas of opportunity in the industry sense of 4.0 in order to obtain research gaps that may be executed in organizational systems on the value chain. Another point is to be a reference in future research related to the categories selected in this study.
Theoretical proposal of steps for the implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept
Brazilian Journal of Operations & Production Management
Goal: The purpose of this paper is to present a proposal of steps for the implementation of Industry 4.0 in the industrial context, considering management and operational aspects. The reason is to discuss that technological change is accompanied by many organizational implications, in which it is perceivable that some companies already experience strategic and operational turbulence due to the lack of understanding of the this structure’s complexity. Design / Methodology / Approach: This study assumes an exploratory character because the subject of analysis is still in the knowledge-structuring phase. In this sense, data was collected from the literature review. Results: A theoretical proposal for the Industry 4.0 implementation framework is presented in flow format. It is organized in steps that cover the strategic and operational aspects during the implementation flow. Limitations of the investigation: The limitations of this study are directly related to its theoretical nature an...
Hybrid Communication for Industry 4.0: Nemetic Models
This article focuses on the relationships between hybrid communication environments and skills that will be needed to work in Industry 4.0. It also provides models based on the nemetic system, which are useful to analyze, track, and represent hybrid interactions in extremely digitalized environments. For people to function in Industry 4.0, they will need skills well beyond the traditional listening and reading, and even beyond the new skill of transliteracy, understood as the ability to communicate across a range of platforms, tools and media (Thomas, 2005). They will need to be able to determine appropriate modalities and strategies for coding and decoding new types of multi-discourse: • Human-human • Human-machine / machine-human • Machine-machine Recent research explores cognitive patterns in narrative that can be represented through geometric models (Duarte, 2014). These recursive communication experiences have been described as “fractal narrative,” in terms of individual discourse (micro level), collective interaction (meso level), and community knowledge building (macro level)

Perspectives of Industry 4.0 Development in Poland – Preliminary Research Results
DEStech Transactions on Engineering and Technology Research, 2018
Over the last few years, the fourth industrial revolution has attracted practices and academia worldwide, however there are still many gaps related to the Industry 4.0. In the presented paper, there was assumed, that there are key companies' competences, which are essential for the Industry 4.0 development. Therefore, it was examined, if those competences are important for companies, which have not introduced Industry 4.0, yet. If there is cohesion in perception of those competences, the perspective of the Industry 4.0 introduction in polish companies is positive, what may indicate readiness to that concept realization. Otherwise, the perspective is pessimistic. The main aim of the presented research, was an attempt to outline the perspective of developing the concept of Industry 4.0 in Poland, in terms of key company's competences. The indirect aim was to point out the direction of Polish companies' development towards the Industry 4.0 concept. In research there was used the questionnaire survey method, conducted on randomly selected group of Polish companies. Findings of this paper can be used as the basis for future research.
