Seeing many potentials for marine tourism and tourist visits which tend to fluctuate is certainly necessary to have a good performance effectiveness in promoting tourism. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the effectiveness of performance of GenPI of Bulukumba on tourism promotion. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, tries to describe the existing problems based on data from observations, interview and documentation. The researcher presented the data analysis, the results of the interpretation coming to a conclusion. This study used purposive sampling, namely determining the sample based on certain considerations (key informants), namely three members of GenPI of Bulukumba and fourteen regular informants. Promotion Analysis of Marine Tourism in Indonesia: A Case Study
Indonesia has much marine tourism potential to be developed, but there has been a significant decrease of visits to the main marine tourism destinations in Indonesia, one of whichis Banten Province. Among the various factors that led to the decline of tourist visits, weak promotion strategy is suspected to be noteworthy. This research was conducted to analyse strategy and promotion activity regarding Banten Province during the last three years. The results show that the promotion strategy is not consistent with the strengths and opportunities that Banten Province requires and weaknesses and threats it must overcome to be a leading tourist destination in Indonesia.

The development of tourism in Bengkulu Province was aimed at improving the tourism as one of the prioritized sectors. This accomplished through the improvement of the tourism competitiveness, the development of local tourism, the development of human resources as well as the increase of the roles of the community and business people in the tourism sector. The variety of tourism attractiveness and its potentials existing in Bengkulu Province has not been used and managed well as a tourism resources that has a selling point and a competitive value so that it can accelerate the increase of the local government and community income. Such as tourism resources still need a creative and professional touch in order to make it as an object of tourism and to make it attractive; therefore, it can be made as a tourism product that has selling value. This research focuses on the development strategy of tourist visits to Pontianak City from 2016 to 2020. The research is aimed at finding out how the promotion strategy of the Tourism Sector increases tourist visits at the Pontianak City DISPORAPAR in 2019. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study that the Tourism Promotion Strategy in increasing tourist visits went through three stages. Planning is carried out through setting a promotional budget, determining the target market analysis, promotion goals, and message planning. Tahap implementation activities by carrying out promotional activities, using promotional media, and tourism events. While the evaluation stage is an evaluation meeting, a report on the performance of responsibility for one period.

The tourism sector in Indonesia is up-and-coming and is still in the process of development and development. Santolo Beach has coral reefs and coastal land that can be used for tourism. Many strategies can be used to develop Santolo Beach. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The research was conducted at Santolo Beach, Pamalayan Village, Cikelet District, Garut Regency, in August 2021. The data used in this research is primary. Primary data was conducted by interview using purposive sampling technique and questionnaire using an accidental sampling technique Data analysis was carried out using SWOT and QSPM analysis. The roles of the government, business actors and the community are very important in improving the effectiveness of development of tourism. This study has two objectives. First, to analyse determinant factors of the effectiveness of development of tourism potentialss. Second, to formulate tourism development model. The location of this study is in Sarolangun Regency, Jambi, Indonesia. The methods used to examine the objectives of the study were both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data was collected by using questionnaires. The number of sample collected was 100 people. In addition to that, field observation, interviews, and focus group discussion with the relevant stakeholders were undertaken to support the quantitative method. The results showed that determinant factors of the effectiveness of tourism development in Sarolangun Regency are the policy implementation, investment and business actors. These factors determined significantly the effectiveness of development of tourism potentials partially as well as jointly. The joint effects of these three independent variables on the effectiveness of development of tourism potentials in Sarolangun were found to be 57 percent. To realize the tourism development model works, the study suggests as follows. First, it is important to restructure regional tourism organization in this regency by involving the participation of the governments at the regency, provincial and national levels, business actors, and community at large. Second, it is important to improve the public transportation coverage, communication networks and road access from and to tourist destinations. Third, it is important to provide supporting facilities including souvenir shops, restaurants, homestays, parking space, and other tourist attractions in each destination. Finally, better training toward tourism human resources is a must including tour guides and communities around tourist destination as well.

The Tourism and Culture Department has made a program to develop the Gandoriah-Sunur Beach tourism destination as a Pariaman City Tourism Strategic Area (KSPK), West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Tourism Development Strategy in Kutai Kartanegara Regency of East Kalimantan, Indonesia

The right strategy is needed for sustainable tourism development in Kutai Kartanegara. Internal and external considerations are taken into account in the plan. The aim of this study is to look at the development strategy in Kutai Kartanegara Regency East Kalimantan for tourism in Kumala Island Tenggarong. The data was gathered by using (key person). The SWOT analysis method was used in this study. The tourism growth plan in Kutai Kartanegara Regency is in cell 3, which supports the turnaround strategy, according to the SWOT analysis method. According to the SWOT analysis, the issues identified in Kutai Kartanegara Regency's tourism growth strategy are: 1) increasing promotion of Kumala Island tourism as a development center for Kutai and Dayak culture, and 2) maximizing investor use of galleries and homestays, 3) Increasing the budget for tourism infrastructure to support the development of a growing and high-demand tourist region, 4) improving skilled manpower in tourism management to support the development of an ecotourism area, and 5) improving tourist attractions in cultural development (the existence of lamin house).
Strategic Issues of Tourism Destination In Indonesia: Are They Market Ready?

This study explores issues related to tourism destination marketing, particularly for the government acting as the Destination Management Organization (DMO). Despite the significance of T&T in generating revenue streams for local governments, there is an issue of awareness in the context of marketing readiness. To date, regions have succeeded in harvesting its tourism potential in the form of an increased number of visits and receipts. The tendency of most regions in Indonesia to explore and exploit tourism potential via branding and promotion strategies had overwhelmingly seen as a basic need. This study is qualitative by employing the use of a case study as a strategy of inquiry with thirteen respondents participated in this study. Preliminary findings in this study suggest that although the promotions and branding activities utilized as a means of marketing strategy, nonetheless competitiveness of tourism destination in fulfilling experiences remains problems to be solved.
Boosting Indonesia’s Tourism Sector to be Competitive

At present and in the future Indonesia still relies heavily on tourism to cover the current account deficit and the state budget deficit. In fact, every year it is quite difficult to reach the target of tourists to visit Indonesia because of various obstacles that should be overcome by the government and tourism business actors. Therefore, this research aims to boost tourism sector through increasing competitiveness. This research analysis refers to the views of Crouch & Ritchie (OECD, 1999). This qualitative research uses secondary data and primary data that are processed and analyzed comprehensively. The findings of this research prove that the government has done a lot for the development of tourism and set 10 main destinations as tourism icons. On the other hand, there are still disharmony and sectoral ego between the ministry and the local government so as to reduce competitiveness, such as lack of promotional activities, the high price of domestic flight tickets, and limited number of tourism ports.
