Family Functioning with Personal Wellbeing in boys and girls high school students

This study entitled of relationship between family functioning with personal wellbeing in boys and girls high school students of Bandar Abbas. The method used in this research is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population consisted of 386 subjects were selected with multi-stage stratified random sampling method proportionate to the size, among high school students in Bandar Abbas. The instrument used in this study, are two standard questionnaires: 1. Family Assessment Device (FAD), 2. Personal Wellbeing Index School Children (PWI-SC). For the analysis of research findings Pearson correlation and multiple regressions linear were used. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the families function components with Personal Wellbeing in boys and girls high school students in Bandar Abbas and family assessment is a suitable predictive for measurement the Personal wellbeing of students.

FAMILY, COMMUNICATION, AND MENTAL WELL-BEING AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN KANCHANABURI PROVINCE, THAILAND

The objective of this study is to examine the association between family factors, communication factors, and mental well-being among high school students aged 15!19 in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. This quantitative study was carried out using the probability sampling technique and a questionnaire was used for data collection from 1,074 students. Qualitative research methods were used, and 12 students were interviewed. Data were collected from high school students in three schools during the 2012academic year. The analysis shows that family and communication factors significantly affect high school students" mental well-being.Based on regression analysis and qualitative content analysis, family relationships factors are more important than other factors in explaining the variations in students" mental well-being. Regarding the family relationships domains, those who reported a high level of compliance with the appropriate roles within the family and a high level of expression of love and caring for each other had good mental well-being. Addiction to the Internet is the one communication factor that is associated with students" mental well-being. Regarding Internet addiction factors, students with a high level of addiction had low mental well- being and a high level of depression. The results of this study support building positive (good) family relationships. In future studies, family relationship indicators should be developed in the context of activities and lifestyle of the family in each region.

School environment as a mediating variable between family support and social wellbeing in high school students

Educational institutions are crucial environments to promote students' wellbeing. This introduces major challenges into the processes of executing and evaluating programmes such as the ones focused on achieving bullying-free schools. Perceived Family Life Quality in Junior Secondary School Students in Hong Kong

The present longitudinal study examined perceived family functioning and related sociodemographic correlates from the perspective of adolescents in Hong Kong. Results showed that adolescent perceptions of family functioning based on different indicators gradually deteriorated over time. Regarding the socio-demographic correlates, (a) boys had more favourable perceived family functioning than did girls; (b) adolescents from non-intact families had poorer perceived family functioning than those from intact families; and (c) economically disadvantaged adolescents had poorer perceived family functioning than noneconomically disadvantaged adolescents. Results also revealed that adolescents' perceived family functioning was positively related to positive youth development. Analyses further indicated that perceived family functioning and positive youth development were concurrently and longitudinally related.

FACTORS LEADING OF FAMILY FUNCTIONING AND SELF CONCEPT IN THE ADOLESCENTS

This study aims to determine the relationship between family functioning and selfconcept in the process among the troubled youth in Bangi’s school. The subject of this study consists of 100 students selected two sampling aimed at the reform school in Bangi. The two inventories used in this study the Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory (CFSEI) to measure self-concept, and Family Cohesion Adapbility Skill 2 (FACES 2) measure the perception of functional family. The study showed that family functioning has a significant relationship with adolescent self-concept. Specially, the support and involvement of parents in a positive relation with the dimensions of control and parental involvement, and personal appreciation of adolescents were more in relation to support and parental controls. Role of family environment on adolescent well being

Adolescence is an extreme period in person growth through which individual suffer persistent genetic, psychosomatic, emotional changes. The family environment plays an important role on developing adolescents, providing secure relationship, well-built parenting skill superior contact, and model optimistic behaviors. It can also be difficult surroundings when these chains are absent or when unconstructive mature behaviors like smoking and intake is present. The aim of present study to find out relationship between family environment and subjective well-being of adolescents. Sample of present study comprised 160 school students between the age range of 16 -21 years old. Family Environment Scale (FES) by Dr. Harpreet Bhatia and Dr. N.K.Chadha and PGI General Well Being Measure developed by Dr. Santosh K. Vermawas used for the purpose of the study. This study adapts normative survey research design and using stratified random sampling, 160 students from different school of Lovely Professional University was taken. Result also shows that there is positive relation between family environment and well-being.

Relevant Factors in Adolescent Well-Being: Family and Parental Relationships

Health-related quality of life, teachers’ opinion of academic performance and self-perceived health are indicators of well-being in the adolescent stage. Some variables, such as those related to the quality of family and parental relationships, may influence these indicators and thus condition well-being during this stage of life and beyond. In this research, the aforementioned variables are analyzed jointly. It is a cross-sectional study in which 1375 adolescent schoolchildren between 11 and 18 years of age participated. Different instruments such as KIDSCREEN-10 and the questionnaire used in the international study Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children were used. An Overview of School Well-Being Scale at Students of Muhammadiyah Vocational High School: A Pilot Study

The researcher conducted a psychometric analysis to know the school well-being scale’s validity and reliability and understand the dimensions that could form the school well-being variable. School well-being is a complex concept because it involves various essential elements in the teaching and learning process. School well-being is useful to help create a conducive learning environment and achieve learning goals in schools. The school well-being variable was measured using four dimensions from Konu & Rimpelä, namely having, loving, being, and health status. Forty students of SMK Muhammadiyah X in Ajibarang District, Banyumas, Indonesia, were involved. Analysis of research data to measure validity uses the corrected item-total correlation formula, while to measure reliability using Cronbach’s alpha which is analyzed using SPSS version 25. The Development of a Family Cohesion Scale: A Preliminary Validation

Family is said to be an important agent for the socio-emotional development and growth of an individual. The existing research finds out the manifestation and expression of family cohesion among adolescents in the Pakistani cultural context. In phase I, a phenomenological approach was used to elicit the key characteristics of family cohesion from 30 adolescents followed by phase II, the establishment of content validity index, and phase III of pilot testing on 20 participants to check comprehension of the scale. In the last phase, 785 adolescents (Girls = 49%; Boys = 51%) were selected to determine the psychometric properties of the Family Cohesion Scale (FCS). Factor analysis yielded four factors of family cohesion namely mutual support, sharing, parental involvement, and emotional bonding. Furthermore, results also depicted high internal consistency, test-retest reliability, split-half reliability, and construct validity. The factors of family cohesion are discussed by considering the collectivistic cultural context of Pakistan  .

Family Structure , Family Functioning , and Well-Being in Adolescence : A Multidimensional Approach

Previous studies investigating the relationship between family structure and adolescent well-being yielded ambiguous results. With regard to family functioning, previous research found that balanced family functioning was connected to well-being, whereas unbalanced family functioning was related to ill-being. The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship between family functioning and dimensions of well-being using the EPOCH model. In our study, 158 adolescents (65 males and 93 females) from differently structured families filled out measures of family functioning and well-being. Participants were 16.61 years old on average (SD = .87). Results showed no significant impact of family structure on well-being. Balanced family functioning positively, unbalanced family functioning negatively predicted well-being.
