The Influence of Group Counseling With Assertive Training on Student’s Assertive Ability

This research aims to understand the importance of group counseling with assertive training techniques for student assertiveness in SMPN 18 Bengkulu. This research used quasiexperimental method with one group pre-test and post-test designs. Statistical test results using the z test show increased assertiveness ability after being provided with group counseling services with assertive training techniques, showed with a z value of minus 2.803 with a significance level (two tails) of 0.005 which means 0.005 is less than 0.05, so it resulted that Ho was denied and Ha was accepted, thus there was a significant change in the students' assertiveness ability that were given group counseling services with assertive training

Effectiveness of Group Counseling Cognitive Behavior Therapy Cognitive Restructuring Technique and Assertive Skill Training to Improve Assertive Behavior Students

The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy group counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques and assertive skills training to improve student assertive behavior. The research method used was experimental, design Pretest-Posttest Randomized Comparison Group Design, involving research subjects were 21 students selected by purposive sampling of class X SMK Ibu Kartini Semarang. The results of analysis by using One way ANOVA showed that group counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques and techniques of assertive skills training is effective in improving student assertive behavior (F = 78.141; p < 0.01). Effects of Solution-Focused Group Counseling on Student's

The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of solution-focused counseling on selfregulation and academic achievement of high school students. Solution-focused counseling was evaluated through control and experimental pretest-posttest group design. After seven sessions group counseling with students, the self-regulation and academic achievement of students in the counseling intervention group were significantly increased. Moreover, the findings indicated significant difference between control group and experimental group in post test results (p < 0/05).

This paper presents counseling groups conducted in the school. It includes a theory of counseling groups with children and adolescents, and a modality named "expressive supportive". These groups focus on self-expressiveness and group support. They are process oriented and semi-structured. The structure is not based on a specific content but rather on therapeutic techniques used to move the group process. Children learn about self through the interpersonal interaction in the group. A series of studies point to the efficacy of these groups and suggest variables that have an impact on the outcomes of group intervention. The need for counselor training is highly recommended.

Improving Students` Character through Group Counseling Services

The study was based on concerns that the low character of students. The research goal is to obtain a picture of the increase in the character of students through group counseling services. The method used Quasi-experimental research design with pretest form Posttest Control Group Design. With a sample of the experimental group ten and control group ten students. Tutoring Services Group conducted twice meetings and two meetings of information services, namely in the first meeting perform pretest and posttest perform all treatments. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon rank test signed and Kolmogorov Smirnov 2. From the results of the implementation is done, a significant increase is mainly posttest experiment. The findings in the experimental group and the control group there were significant increases between control posttest and posttest results of the experiment. The conclusion of this study the data processing shows that the implementation of group counseling services can improve the character of students.

Evaluating cognitive-behavioral group counseling to improve elementary school students' self-esteem, self-control, and classroom behavior

The objective was to evaluate the eectiveness of cognitive±behavioral group counseling provided to behaviorally disruptive elementary school children. Fifty-two referred children received protocol-based cognitive±behavioral group counseling provided by the ®rst author, a school social worker. Students were randomly assigned to receive either immediate (IT) group counseling or delayed treatment (DT). The two groups were roughly equivalent on most demographic and outcome measures at the ®rst assessment. Following group counseling, the IT groups' self-esteem, perceived self-control, teacher, and teacher aide grades of classroom comportment signi®cantly improved, while similar measures of the DT children did not appreciably change. The DT children then received the same group program the IT group was exposed to three months earlier, and when group counseling was completed (third assessment) the IT groups' gains had been maintained, and the DT group gained improvements similar to those obtained by the IT group. In conclusion, cognitive±behavioral group work can be an eective intervention with behaviorally disruptive elementary school students.

Solution-focused group counseling: A solution to enhance students’ self-confidence

Self-confidence plays a pivotal role in developing an individual’s potentials. Solution-focused counseling approach views an individual as the only expert for his/her own life, and only they themselves are capable of making the best decision. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of solution-focused group counseling sessions in enhancing students' self-confidence. To this end, a pretest-posttest control group experimental study was conducted, involving twelve students of Public Islamic Senior High School 3 Langkat, who were assigned into two groups of six participants each. Data collected from self-confidence scale were analyzed using Wilcoxon Sign Test by identifying the difference in average improvement of self-confidence. The experimental group exhibited a significance value of 0.002 ( 0.005), indicating that the solution-focused group counseling could improve students’ self-confidence.
