Analysis of Rural Women's Participation in Income Generating Activities in District Mardan

Purpose: The contemporary research was intended to survey the countryside women's participation in monetary creating activities and had explored socio-economic obstacles faced by them while carrying out their home activities. Methodology: Survey was carried out in two purposively selected villages in the Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. by Usage of a simple random technique, targeting a total of 112 women respondents’ primary data were collected with the help of a semi-structured interview schedule and analyzed with the help of descriptive statistics techniques. AN ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE AND ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION OF RURAL WOMEN IN DIFFERENT SECTOR OF THE ECONOMY -A CASE STUDY OF PAKISTAN'S BADIN AND MATIARI DISTRICTS

This study examine the contribution of women in diverse sectors of the economy and estimates their workload in order to realize their value which they perform as unpaid workers in the rural area. A sample of 260 respondents were purposively selected from Badin and Matiari districts in Pakistan. Finding of the research reveals that females are main contributors in the household economy and participate fully to support the family income. The results showed that about 8.89% male contribute imperceptibly whose financial worth is equivalent to Pkr 10,000-Pkr 50,000 as compared to 71.9% female in the animal husbandry sector. In farming sector, just female contribute imperceptibly whose monetary worth is equivalent to Pkr10,000-Pkr 50,000 every year. In the household chores male participation is almost negligible cutting woods from the trees and arrange water for the family. About 80.5% male respondent involved in unpaid activities whose financial worth is under Pkr 10,000 out of a year when contrasted with 84.1% of females go through 5 to 7 hours to accomplish domestic management task monetary worth is equivalent to Pkr 50,000-Rs.100,000 per annum. Thus female perform more unpaid work as compared to male.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN IN THE RURAL AREAS OF BALOCHISTAN

This paper explores the emerging pattern of changes in the economic activities of women in the village of Zandra (District Ziarat), Balochistan by assessing their direct and indirect contribution to the household economy. Women's indirect contribution to the village is not a new development; they have been contributing in this way for centuries. They have always worked in horticulture and agriculture along with the men of their families. Over the last three decades, however, a major change has occurred; women are now entering the employment sector. This change has resulted in a shift from an informal economy to a formal economy as women move from horticultural activities within the household to employment outside the home. The swing to the employment sector has ushered in significant changes in their daily lives and altered the family power equation. This paper, drawing upon the findings of a recent study analyzing women's economic contribution in the light of the world-systems theory at the micro level, raises questions regarding the nature of this change and its impact on family life. The data used in this paper was collected by applying qualitative anthropological research techniques.

Factors Affecting the Income of Rural Women: An Evidence from District Faisalabad, Pakistan

The fundamental point of the investigation was to assess the effect of various components on the pay of rural women in the region Faisalabad. For this, a stratified sampling procedure was utilized. At the first stage, the Faisalabad district was chosen purposively. In the second stage, five regions of each class were chosen through a simple random sampling technique. The total sample size was comprised of 150 respondents. A pre-tested questionnaire was used to gather the information from chosen respondents through the personal interview technique. Descriptive Statistics were used to explore the socio-economic characteristics of rural women. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to estimate the impact of different factors affecting the income of rural women. According to the estimated results, the age of the respondents has a positive and highly significant impact. Feminization of agriculture has been occurred in Pakistan and women’s are participating in agriculture and its allied fields. In rural areas of Pakistan, women’s living conditions are not up to the mark. For the betterment of living standard, women’s are working in agriculture on daily wages. Agriculture not only in Pakistan but all over the world has become a tool for women’s economic development. Present study explores the role of agriculture in women’s economic development. A sample of 140 female respondents was selected through multistage sampling technique. Questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS and descriptive statistical technique. WOMEN’S CONTRIBUTION IN ENHANCING ECONOMY IN VILLAGE KARIMABAD, HUNZA

This study is a qualitative analysis of women’s contribution to the household economy. This particular study was conducted in the village of Karimabad in district Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan. Data was collected from 100 respondents by using simple random sampling technique. The study utilized various data collection methods including interviews, case studies, participant observation, and key informant method. Women in the village were observed to be working as teachers, nurses, carpenters and some engaged in agriculture. The shift from agriculture to employment sector has brought quiet a lot of changes in their daily life. The study reveals that the women of the area in relevance to the last decade have relatively taken more part as a working force in the domestic economy. 38 percent of the women working in various professions including vocational, technical, teaching and clerical earned between 10,000- 20,000. The data showed that even though woman have started working yet they are not being paid equally as men.

Income Generating Activities of Rural Women: A Tool for Poverty Alleviation and Decision-making

The present paper attempts to examine the income generating activities among rural women in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh in the year of 2019-20. The study was conducted in 06 villages located at bichhua block of Chhindwara district. Data for the study was collected from a sample of 100 respondents. The study found that higher percentage of the rural women (52%) belonged to young age group, (30%) of the rural women were in the category of high school, (50%) were marginal rural women, (50%) of rural women had small family size having up to 5 members, (55 %) rural women had nuclear family system, (45.00%) of rural women were doing work as agriculture, (45.00%) had annual income ` 15,001 to 20,000, (70%) of the respondents had high training need while about 20% of them had medium training need for income generation activities of rural women, (85%) training needs were in nursery establishment and the rest three components namely vegetable production, animal husbandry and poultry activities claimed more or less similar proportion of training needs. The relationship between independent variables and extent of training needs in conducting Income Generating Activities was significant with age, education, landholding, type of family, occupation and annual income.
