The objective of this study was to compare identity styles and friendship quality among female and male adolescent students in Khash. To this end, a corpus of 400 female and male students (199 female students and 201 male students) studying in Khash was selected using the cluster random sampling method. The measurement tools applied in the current study were the Berzonsky Identity Styles Questionnaire (1992) and the Hejazi and Zohrevand Friendship Quality Inventory (2000). For data analysis, the t-test was used to compare the means of the two independent groups. The obtained results showed significant differences between the mean scores of the female and male students on all the subscales considered in the Identity Style Questionnaire except for the diffuse-avoidant style. Moreover, there were not any significant differences between the mean scores of the female and male students on the total score of friendship quality and the subscale of satisfaction at the 95% confidence level. However, considering the subscales of proximity, self-disclosure, and trust, significant differences were found between the mean scores of the female and male students.
Exploring Experiences of Identity Formation amongst Young Students
The study seeks to understand how expectations and pressures from middle class families particularly parents influence the identities of the young generation. It has been observed that expectations of parents residing in Anushaktinagar, Mumbai with respect to the academic performances of their children are very high. It is also observed that adolescents and youth in this society are experiencing diverse challenges on an everyday basis through the friendship groups they develop, their usage of the internet (particularly for social networking) and wider urban cultural influences on their lifestyles. Along with the parents, socio cultural, psychosocial and social perspective all of it works when we talk about identity formation.
Predictors of Student’s Search for Identity: Its Role and Effect on their Psychosocial Development
The study focuses mainly on the predictors of identity and its effect on the psychosocial development of adolescents. These factors that were found in the study are family and peers. Qualitative and quantitative research designs were used and 180 respondents participated in the study. It was known that adolescents have already acquired personal, relational, social and collective identities. They express their search for identity by facing three major issues; individual expression, autonomy and social pressure. It was also discovered that identity formation cannot be achieved by the end of adolescence because most of them are still in the state of moratorium and foreclosure.

What does being a student of Psychology in Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) mean to you? This question was given to 33 students-cum-participants of this research. The background was that academic social identity-defined as how individuals identify to their academic institutions and/or subject areas they undertake during the time spent throughout their educational process-is key to their achievements. The objective was to understand the academic social identity of UPJ Department of Psychology students, particularly those who took Qualitative Research Method course in 2019/2020 Academic Year, to better understand their trajectories. This writing used qualitative research method with youth participatory action approach, applying photovoice as data collecting method, which produced visual and textual data analyzed from interpretative phenomenological perspective. The result showed that their academic social identity comprised of the following stages: understanding what Psychology is, their own personal and non-personal reasons to choose this discipline and then understanding their roles as students-both in Department Psychology and in UPJ. Discussion touched upon the stage that seemed to be particularly painstaking: understanding their roles as students-opening doors to provide student service supports to ensure smoother transition. It was concluded that academic social identity is a never-ending process.
The Meaning of Friendship in The Process of Self-Identity Development for Indonesian Adolescents

In this research, we aimed to explore adolescents' experiences concerning the function of friendship in the process of the development of self-identity. We enacted the phenomenological approach as the method in this research. We conducted in-depth individual interviews for the data sampling. The research results show that friendship becomes a prominent point in the process of the development of middle adolescents' self-identity. It would happen if, in the relationship of a group of adolescents, there are similar values and trust. Therefore, they can influence each other and strengthen the identity of each individual.
Aspect of Identity Crisis Faced by Adolescents: A Comparative Study of Rudrapur and Lucknow

An identity crisis is a personal and psychosocial conflict that occurs during adolescence, though may happen at any time. It involves confusion about one’s social role and sense of self. The present study intends to identify the aspects of identity crisis faced by adolescents. Sample for the study comprised of 160 adolescents (88 boys and 72 girls) between 10 and19 years of age group. Aspects of identity questionnaire by Cheek and Briggs were used to assess the level of identity. The questionnaire measures the identity in terms of who are and what a particular person is and what constitute person’s identity. The scale measures four aspects of identity which include the personal identity, relational identity, social identity, and collective identity. Results reveal that the majority of the adolescents faced personal, relational, and collective identity orientation on an average.

Social identity formation (SIF) has rarely been addressed, either through analytic methods or on through sociologically and social-psychologically mixed-methods design at multiple levels. In the Iranian context, SIF, especially among youths, is devoid of any theoretical and functional models capable of explaining the effects which have been hypothesized of social system’s SIF functional deficiency. A sample of 445 students from the University of Tehran was selected in the period of 2016-2018, based on a random stratified sampling method. The participants undertook a validated questionnaire (i.e., content and construct validity) measures through expert judgment and PFA, delivered on a tablet. The reliability was r=0.88. This study aims to analyze the identity of high school students based on four levels of status (identity diffusion, identity foreclosure, identity moratorium, and identity achievement). Self-identity is very important because the task of development at that time is to adapt to changes that exist in oneself. Teens who experience an identity crisis show that they are trying to find their identity. Therefore, adolescents need help to improve their identity. Adolescents are synonymous with the era of self-identity confusion. The effect of self-identity disorder among adolescents can be described through misconduct on school discipline. Various efforts have been made to help adolescence to achieve a positive self-identity. The situation became more challenging when adolescents known as generation Y are easily allured by the current trend. Considering this, the study was conducted to identify the profile of self-identity among adolescents of generation Y. This study was conducted in 22 secondary schools around Johor involving a sample of 807 students. Data were collected through questionnaires EOMEIS-2, which adapted and modified.
