Examination of the Relationship between Organizational Stress and Employee Performance: A Research on Staff Working on Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports

The purpose of this research is to study the relation between the level of organizational stress at the staff of the Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorate and their performance. The study group of research, Istanbul province in the Uskudar district officials operating in the Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorate constitute a total of 96 staff, including 36 women and 60 men. In this research, " Job Strain Questionnaire Scale " that was developed firstly by Theorell et al. (1988) and adapted to Turkish by Yildirim et al. (2011) together with " Employee Performance Scale " that was developed by Kirkman and Rosen (1999) and adapted to Turkish by Col (2008) were used to collect data. In the evaluation of data as statistical analyzes; descriptive statistics, for independent groups t-test, one way analysis of variance (Anova) and Pearson Correlation test was used to determine the relationship between the dependent variables. As a result of the research; participants' employee performance showed significant differences according to marital status variables, there were no significant differences for organizational stress. In addition, there were no significant relationships between employee performance and organizational stress of the employees were determined.

ABSTRACT The study investigates the effect of work stress on employee job satisfaction of public organization in a case study of Nekemte city administration. Employees work stress is due to unpleasant emotional situation that an individual experiences when the requirements of job are not counter balanced with his ability to cope the situation. This affects the employee’s job satisfaction. The study adopts descriptive research approach. So as to achieve the objectives of this study, information was gathered from four public organization (Technique and vocational administrative office, Health science collage, Revenue office and Hospital), through self administered questionnaire from a sample of 192 public organization employees. The study was adopts both probability and non-probability sampling method. The data collected from the questionnaire were processed by using SPSS 16.0 version and analyzed by using descriptive statistical tools such as mean and standard deviation. The mean rank of Friedman was used to rank the factors contributing for work stress, and the Pierson correlation was used see the relationship between work stress and job satisfaction. The study finding indicate that causes of work stress significantly were working environment, inflexibility at work, , personal issue factor, lack of financial resource, and management systems. In addition the finding shows there is less job satisfaction in the case study due to limited work promotion, unfair salary lack of confidence in management, lack of employees work relationship, limited learning opportunities, and un-advancement in job. Then the correlation analysis, employees are facing work stresses that have caused less job satisfaction it indicates negative relationship. Key Words: Stress, Work Stress, Job Satisfaction

The Contribution of Work Stress on Employees Performance in the Public Sector, Case Study Of Medical Store Department Dar Es Salaam

This study aimed to assess the Contribution of work stress on employees' performance in the public sector, the case of the Medical Store Department in Dar es Salaam. The study used a sample 35 respondents attained through purposive sampling and simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected through structured questionnaires and structured interviews and analyzed in descriptive statistics and thematic techniques. The empirical results found time pressure take lead as the number one source that contributes to stress for medical store department employees, followed by family and work demand, organizational changes, poor leadership, lack of promotion, job insecurity, and heavy responsibility. The result also discovered these factors had negative impacts on employee performance, most of them reduce low working morale, and caused headaches, illnesses, and working errors. The study recommended medical store department should focus on different programs that are useful to manage stress in the work environment including counseling services, monitoring staff performance life and health situation at least every month, engaging with employee assistance programs and the ministry of health should realize the welfare of their workers by introducing a guidance and counseling scheme of services in the public service as an integral component of Human Resource Management. This unit aims to help employees in the public service embrace and understand counseling at the workplace as a strategy to tackle stress and other maladaptive behaviors portrayed in the workplace.

The purpose of this study was to determine The Effect of Job Stress on Employee Performance. The research uses quantitative methods. For data analysis and hypothesis testing, SPSS version 26 is used. The test results show that work stress has a significant and negative effect on employee performance. Based on the coefficient of determination test (R2), the contribution of work stress to employee work performance is 0.783, or 78.3%, the rest is explained by other variables that do not exist in this study..

Assessing the characteristics of work-related stress in public sector organizaitons

In relation to work related environment, stress is extensively discussed around the globe. Public sector work environment in Pakistan is also no exception to this discussion. The study was conducted to analyze whether the work environment of Pakistan Audit Department was significantly stress-provoking. Quantitative results were obtained through questionnaire survey. By adopting non-probability convenience sampling technique, the population was divided into three strata and at least 20% of each stratum was taken as sample (n=93). Though overall results did not prove a significant relationship between work environment and stress, yet certain inconsistent associations were observed. Women were found more vulnerable to stress than men in certain respects and work environment did have some stress-related health outcomes for the employees.

Stress is a reaction to excessive pressure or harassment at work. It is a physical, mental, or emotional response to events that cause bodily or mental tension. People in stress conditions may find it is hard to concentrate on any task and cannot be relied on to do their share. Some employers assume that stressful working conditions turns up the pressure on workers. A set aside health concerns; it will affect the productivity and profitability in today's economy. This paper purposely to identify the level of job stress among government staffs. This study was carried out using a set of questionnaire and survey method. The questionnaire was distributed to 150 staffs of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) Kuching as representative of government sector and was analysed using SPSS version 19. The study had shown that most of the respondents were moderately stressful. It is very important that the organisations understands the needs of its employees and provide what is best for the employees.

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of work stress during the Covid19 pandemic on employee performance. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Organizational Stress and Its Impact on Work Performance

Nowadays, in times of economic crisis, most managers or entrepreneurs have to cope with a lot of new job challenges which can easily transform into stressors. Work related stress is of growing concern because it has significant economic implications for the organization. Even if some stress is a normal part of life, excessive stress can influence one's productivity, health and emotions and it has to be taken under control. When people lose confidence, they refuse to take responsibilities, they get quickly irritated, they are unsatisfied of their job, their performance will be very low and the organization will be in danger. Fortunately, most managers and entrepreneurs know which stress main symptoms are and have the necessary knowledge for managing and reducing it before it can affect employees' daily work. Stress can have an impact both on the organizational welfare and on personal behavior of supervisors or employees, that's why, the ability of managing it can make the difference between job's success or failure. The purpose of this paper is to study Romanian managers and entrepreneurs from Bihor County's perception regarding the stress phenomenon, if they feel that they are affected by stress, if they promote some methods to reduce it and if they consider that stress can influence the organizational performance. As a research method we used an online questionnaire, applied to a number of 75 managers and entrepreneurs that represent the target group of the project "Flexibility and performance through management", project financed by the European Social Fund-"Invest in people". Each participant had to answer a number of 35 questions regarding stress and the results will be presented in this paper. The main conclusion is that, even if job itself is seen as a stressor, there are other important factors that can produce stress such as: family problems, personal problems or social problems.

A Correlational Approach on the Influence of Stress Level on the Job Performance of Employees in a Private Hospital

Aim: This study assesses the level of stress and its relationship to the job performance of the employees in a private hospital. Materials and methods: This study used a descriptive-correlational design using a questionnaire. The total enumeration was used in this study to represent the population adequately with 295 respondents. To analyze the data frequency, percentage, mean, and Pearson-r were utilized. Results: Results include: (43.70%) are 25-34 years old; (63.40%) are females; (52.20%) of them is rendering their service less than five years; (31.20%) are earning 9060 to 10059 pesos; (32.20%) are in the nursing department. The stress level of the respondents had a mean score of 2.31. The overall job performance of the employees shows a mean score of 3.43. Also, Pearson-r revealed a score of (r =-0.17, n = 295, p = 0.01). Conclusion: The researchers conclude that: the hospital employees in a secondary hospital in Urdaneta City are young adults, that is female dominated and are relative neophytes who are making a decent amount of money, who are nurses. Hospital employees are experiencing minimal stress. The employees are a high-performing human resource. The stress level of the employees has a minimal damaging connection with their overall job performance. Clinical significance: The results of this study will be a guide for the plans and activities in stress control, and enhancement of employees' job performance. Moreover, the results of this study will increase the employees' awareness about the stress they are experiencing, their job performance level, and how stress influences their job performance. The findings of this study will also give patients information about the quality of service the employees provide to them.

This research aims to examine the effect of mental stress on employees' job performance in social security organization of Khuzestan and define the factors of mental stress on job performance and also to examine the status of job performance in this organization. The study sample consisted of male and female employees of the social security organization of Khuzestan which 200 of them were selected as sample members. For data collection, mental stress- job pressure measurement questionnaire and evaluation of the efficiency of individual's questionnaire were used.
