The Professional Competencies of Foreign Language Teachers from the view of Administrators and Teachers in Basic Teaching Schools - A Field Study in Lattakia City

The Research aims to investigate the administrators and teachers opinion in the degree of having of Professional Competencies of Foreign Language Teachers of the Basic Teaching Schools in Lattakia City, and to study the different of such opinions according to variables (sex, expertness, the functional name). To achieve the objectives of the research, a questionnaire composed was designed including (70) items included Professional Competencies; distributed to the four areas (Language, teaching, Class Management, evaluation). then applied to a sample of (222) managers and teachers for the academic year 2017/2018. The present research used the descriptive analytical approach. Validity of the questionnaire was established though a jury of (7) of the teaching staff of educational at Tishreen university. Pilot sample consisted of (42) teachers, Reliability was established by Cronbach-Alpha Reliability at lest (0.129). The final results showed that possession the Professional Competencies of Foreign Language Teachers were middle rated, the results did show statistical significance differences among sample answers averages in Professional Competencies of Foreign Language Teachers according to the variables of expertness in favor of more than 10 years, also to the variable the functional name in favor of teachers. As a result of the research conducted, the main recommendations are to create a cognitively enriched environment for English language teachers by conducting professional development workshops.

The Role of Educational Supervisors in Developing the First Teachers’ Job Performance in the Light of the Goal Supervision Model at the Governorate of Muscat Schools: A First Supervisor’s Perspectives

This qualitative study discussed the first educational supervisors' perspectives in developing the job performance of the first teachers, due to the objective's supervision model at Muscat Governorate schools. The statement problem was the absence of the educational supervisors' role in the developing of the first teachers' performance, and the weakness of goals supervision application. The objective of the study: to discuss the role of educational supervisors in developing the first teachers' job performance in the light of supervision model, the study adopted the descriptive qualitative approach, using the interviews for data collection. The study sample were (4) supervisors at the General Directorate of Education in Muscat. The findings revealed that; the role of educational supervisors in developing the job performance of the first teachers was high of the goal supervision model; On the existence of a (high) estimate in the fields of (implementation, field follow-up, and evaluation), and on a (average) to relatively low estimate in the areas of (goals, planning) in some of the goals and plans.

Measuring Effectiveness of Teaching Performance for Staff Members at the College of Education / Garmian University from Students' Point of View

The current research aims measuring the effectiveness of teaching performance for teaching staff at the college of Education / Garmian University from students' point of view. the researcher randomly identified (497) students to represent the research milieu that is distributed among (10) of other departments in the college for the academic year 2019-2020. The (190) students have chosen to represent the sample. Then, the questionnaire was prepared as a research tool as well as distributed to some of pedagogy experts to verify its validity; As a result the rate agreement was (84%) percentage. The stability has been also checked by using (re-test) of (25) students of the same college. By using the Pearson correlation coefficient the stability showed (0,89%) Accordingly, the questionnaire has been distributing to the sample of research. Statistically, research shows that the effectiveness of the teaching performance for teaching staff in the College of Education / Garmian University in the field of (personal characteristics) that they take into account the individual differences between students, and the field of (lecture preparation) has shown the way they use different resources and references for the educational material. The field of (academic performance) has shown that they can present the scientific materials fluency, and in the field of (scientific and professional competencies) they can even answer students' questions outside teaching hours, and in the field of (activities and evaluation) they take into account the comprehensiveness of the tests for the all aspects of the curriculum.

تقييم أداء الهيئة التدريسية في جامعة عمان العربية في ضوء مهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين من وجهة نظر طلبة الدراسات العليا

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم أداء الهيئة التدريسية في جامعة عمان العربية في ضوء مهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين من وجهة نظر طلبة الدراسات العليا، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (364) طالباً وطالبة من طلبة الدراسات العليا في جامعة عمان العربية في الفصل الدراسي الأول من العام الجامعي (2019-2020م)، ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم إعداد مقياس لأداء الهيئة التدريسية في ضوء مهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين، وقد أظهرت النتائج بعد تطبيق المقياس وتحليل بياناته؛ أن درجة تقييم أداء الهيئة التدريسية من وجهة نظر طلبة الدراسات العليا في الكليات الثلاث نت متوسطة، كما بينت النتائج عدم وجود فروق تعزى للجنس، ووجود فروق دالة إحصائياً على بعد "السمات العلمية والمهنية" ولصالح كلية الأعمال، وبينت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً للتفاعل الثنائي بين الجنس والكلية تعزى للطلبة الذكور في كلية الأعمال. الكلمات المفتاحية: تقييم أداء الهيئة التدريسية، مهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين.

Ethical principles in education

Every organization has ethical codes and behavioral standards suited to its professional structure that are referred to as professional ethics. Higher education is a professional system and the faculty should be aware of ethical standards of teaching considering their role in developing students and their obligation to them. Applying professional ethics in education ensures the right teachinglearning process in higher education institutions and can result in more commitment to students' needs. The aim of this review article, which is based on literature and related books and articles, is to examine the professional ethics of faculty as teachers and their role in the education and moral development of their students in view of ethical standards. In order to do this, samples of Islamic ethical issues related to the subject and some educational ethical rules of other countries have been investigated. Based on the professional ethics of teaching, teachers should pledge to ethical principles in two dimensions: firstly, they should behave decently considering their role in the students' moral development, and should be aware that the most effective method to characterize positive values in students is being actual role models. Secondly, because of the teachers' responsibility in meeting the educational needs of their students, they should have maximal commitment to ethical principles to perform professional tasks in the best way possible.
