Hence, this study investigated the influence of library user education on use of information resources by students of Federal Colleges of Agriculture Ibadan, Oyo State. Descriptive research design was adopted. Population consists of eight hundred and ten (810) ND 1 and ND 2 students of Federal Colleges of Agriculture Oyo State. Proportionate Sampling technique was adopted as the sampling technique for this study as well. 265 respondents served as the sample size for this study. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that LUE had significant influence on use of IR (Adj. R 2 =0.027; p = 0.009). It was recommended that Librarians have to adopt library orientation, on-line instruction and course-related instruction as form of library user education to promote massive use of their information resources.

The census sampling technique was used because the study used the whole population. The instrument of the study was validated item instrument titled (ILUESLUQ) designed by the researcher in the modified 4-point Likert Scale type with reliability of 0.82 obtained using the Cronbach Alpha Method. Mean and standard deviation were used in answering the research questions while z-test was used in testing the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is a significant difference between library user education and student's utilization of library by faculty of humanities, University of Port Harcourt. It was concluded that librarians should be very proactive when it comes to user education in order to promote library usage. It was recommended among others that GES 100 library use course should be given prominence in the University. This study examined "utilization of information resources and services among undergraduate students in federal university libraries, in South-South, Nigeria". To achieve the purpose of this study, 3 research questions and 3 hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Literatures related to the variables under study were reviewed; accordingly, Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was the registered users of the libraryfor2018/2019 academic session. With a total population of 16620 students and a sample of 831 respondents was selected for the study representing 5% of the population. The selection was done through the stratified and purposive random sampling technique. In this case only the student's library user that were available in the library as at the time of this research were used for the study. Questionnaire instrument was used for data collection. A total of eight hundred and thirty-one (831) copies of questionnaire were administered and eight hundred (800) copies were retrieved and found usable. Data was analyzed using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Analysis. The results of the analysis revealed a significant relationship between the librarian's selective skills and students' use of library resources. The study investigated the information behavior of students towards the use of library information resources in Universities in Oyo State, Nigeria. The study adapted the Wilson's model of Information Behavior and adopted a correlational survey research design. A sample size of four hundred respondents was drawn from selected universities in South Western Nigeria, using a simple random sampling technique. Regression analysis and correlation analysis were used to analysis data obtained from the field. The findings of this study revealed that among the information behavior independent variables which include information needs, seeking and sources, only information needs significantly influence information use. However, information needs, seeking and sources do have a significant joint effect on students' information use. Also, information accessibility was found to have significant controlling effect on the relationship between information availability and use which makes information availability and accessibility very useful variables in the information behavior study especially as regards to students as conceptualized in the academic community in this study. The study recommends that academic library should endeavour to embark on users' needs assessment from time to time to be able to make available needed information resources that would meet users' needs and also enhance use of information available.
