A Novel Home Automation System using Bluetooth and Arduino
The main objective of this article is to develop a Home Automation System using Android mobile with Bluetooth Module. Nowadays people are expecting to control the home appliances through remote control. This expectation is fulfilled by our advanced technology. In this article we are using Bluetooth and Android OS to develop a smart home. Modern Houses are expected to have centralized control system, instead of conventional switches which are fitted on walls. If the user wants to control the appliances, they have to move near the wall and control the switches. This method is inconvenient for the elderly and disabled people. So their difficulty to operate the appliances can be supported by the proposed home automation system which has a remote module to control the appliances. Remote controlled home automation system fulfills the needs of the people. Remote control operation is achieved by a smart phone or Tablet which is supported by Android OS. In the smart phone Android App with Bluetooth acts as a transmitter, which sends commands to the receiver Bluetooth module. In this article ARDUINO UNO controller board which contains an Atmega328p IC is used. The loads are interfaced to the Arduino controller using electromagnetic Relays.

— Home Automation System is becoming very popular day by all-over the world because of making life smoother and minimizing the work load. As technology is advancing so house are also getting smarter. Modern house are gradually shifting from conventional switches to centralized control system, A Bluetooth Module is interfaced to the Arduino board at the receiver end while on the transmitter end, a GUI application on the cell phone sends ON/OFF command to the receiver where loads are connected.
Home Automation Using Smart Android Phone With Bluetooth Technology
International Journal of Advanced engineering, Management and Science, 2016
Home automation system is a house or living environment that implants the technology to allow devices and systems to be restrained automatically. Now a days the smart phones and tablets are becoming powerful and with new and useful characteristics, and better features. Smartphone affordability increases every year and they have begun to play important roles in our day to day life due to its size and portability. Controlling home appliances using an Android cell phone gives user the ability to control the home appliances anywhere, anytime in their home and saves the time spent discovering for the controlled of home automation systems since the user's phone is often kept close at hand. This project presents the design and execution of a low cost prototype of Bluetooth based home automation system using Android cell phone. In this paper, we discuss possible developments and implementation of Bluetooth wireless Technologies and Android OS (operating system) based application for Tab...
Bluetooth based home automation system by N. Sriskanthan , F. Tan, A. Karande
The past decade has seen significant advancement in the field of consumer electronics. Various 'intelligent' appliances such as cellular phones, air-conditioners, home security devices, home theatres, etc. are set to realize the concept of a smart home. They have given rise to a Personal Area Network in home environment, where all these appliances can be interconnected and monitored using a single controller. Busy families and individuals with physical limitation represent an attractive market for home automation and networking. A wireless home network that does not incur additional costs of wiring would be desirable. Bluetooth technology, which has emerged in late 1990s, is an ideal solution for this purpose. This paper describes an application of Bluetooth technology in home automation and networking environment. It proposes a network, which contains a remote, mobile host controller and several client modules (home appliances). The client modules communicate with the host controller through Bluetooth devices. q

To be able to design a product using the current technology that will be beneficial to the lives of others is a huge contribution to the community. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low cost but yet flexible and secure cell phone based home automation system. The design is based on a standalone Arduino BT board and the home appliances are connected to the input/ output ports of this board via relays. The communication between the cell phone and the Arduino BT board is wireless. This system is designed to be low cost and scalable allowing variety of devices to be controlled with minimum changes to its core. Password protection is being used to only allow authorized users from accessing the appliances at home.
Home Automation Using Microcontroller (Arduino Uno)
International Journal of Engineering Research and, 2017
Automation of the surrounding environment of a modern human being allows increasing his work efficiency and comfort and improves time complexity. There has been a significant development in the area of an individual's routine tasks and those can be automated. In the present times, we can find most of the people clinging to their mobile phones and smart devices throughout the day. Hence with the help of his companiona mobile phone, some daily household tasks can be accomplished by personifying the use of the mobile phone. Analyzing the current smart phone market, novice mobile users are opting for Android based phones. It has become a second name for a mobile phone in layman terms. Home Automation System (HAS) has been designed for mobile phones having Android platform to automate an 8 interfaced microcontroller which controls a number of home appliances like lights, fans, bulbs and many more using on/off relay. This paper presents the automated approach of controlling the devices in a household that could ease the tasks of using the traditional method of the switch. The most famous and efficient technology for short range wireless communication-Bluetooth is used here to automate the system

The idea of conversing electricity means that used whenever necessary and avoid wasting it. This means doing simple things like turning OFF lights when any person left the room, etc. One of the biggest motivation for the people is conserving electricity in their homes which is the accumulated savings in their energy bills at the end of the year. So there is a need to conserve the electricity. The main objective of this paper is to control the fan and light using bluetooth module via Arduino. Now a days most of energies are wasted due to the unplug of fans and lights when it is not in use. This is happened because most of the switches are located far away from the users. In order to avoid this situation, we have proposed a low-cost system using Bluetooth which help users to controls the fans and lights within certain distance from them.
