Analyzing the Effectiveness of Online Recruitment: A Case Study on Recruiters of Bangladesh

Economic Growth is a concerning issue for the development of Bangladesh. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is a potential weapon for economic development, especially for Bangladesh. It can help us to build up physical capital, decrease unemployment rate, increase production capacity and create a good economic relationship between the domestic economies with global economy. This study examines the impacts of foreign direct investment on economic growth in Bangladesh during the period of 1990-2015 using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The findings of the study reveal that FDI has its negative sign, which indicates that there is an inverse relationship between FDI and economic growth. The negative sign of FDI supports that Bangladesh should attract FDI increasing human capital, creating a good political environment and enhancing adequate infrastructure facilities, which will improve our economic growth.

The recruitment process itself has undergone a dramatic transformation in recent years with the utilization of the internet. E-Recruitment is becoming a significant phenomenon of the recruitment which prevail with the proliferation of websites specifically used for job posting and recruitment. Online-recruitment is cost-effective and increasingly popular method for job seekers for searching and applying jobs. Moreover, the automated recruiting aims to provide easy solution to the employers in managing entire recruiting process like job posting, sorting candidates etc. Hence, the purpose of this document is to rationalize the standards of e-recruitment strategies of the banking industry in Bangladesh. The study involved thirty banking organizations to explore their e-recruitment practices. The findings revealed that most of the banking organizations tried to maintain their standards of online contents to recruit potential staffs. Nevertheless, few organizations failed to ensure the standard contents of e-recruitment practices. Thus, specific recommendations have been approached to improve e-recruitment strategies which influence online staffing practices.

with the cutting edge technological advancement globally, e-recruitment has gained importance for the employers and the job seeker. As Bangladesh have unacceptably high unemployment rate, studying the factors that influences the use of e-recruitment by the job seeker's would help developing effective unconventional Human resource management practices. A questionnaire was designed to examine applicant's intention to use e-recruitment by obtaining their opinions. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used to select the sample. The data was collected from 250 job seekers who are graduates of different discipline from Dhaka city. This is an empirical study which used factor analysis and cross tabulation analysis to identify the factors and to recognize the relationship of different demographic factors like gender, education, internet experience, job areas with intention to use e-recruitment. The analysis identified the significant factors which swayed the intention of the job seeker's to use e-recruitment. The study will help the employer to concentrate on the factors which is considered important for the job seekers to make the e-recruitment process more effective and efficient.
