Prototype of Knowledge Management System for the Higher Education Institution in Indonesia
In this paper, we propose a model of knowledge management for higher education institution in Indonesia. The model consists of five processes (i.e. capturing, structuring, storing, disseminating and implemetation) and six critical success factors (i.e. vision, culture, management support, technology, education and motivation, and maintenance). Based on the model, we develop a prototype of knowledge management system that accomodates activities and processes in higher education institutions. The prototype is designed to support organization learning and can be used as knowledge repository in the organization.
University customized knowledge management system (KMS)
2015 Fifth International Conference on Digital Information and Communication Technology and its Applications (DICTAP), 2015
The fundamental difference between regular, ordinary information and knowledge is that the latter comprises actionable data; that is data with practical values which can be acted upon. For this reason, knowledge management has evolved throughout the years to become an integral aspect of modern corporations and organizations as it contributes to the growth and development of these enterprises. This paper proposes the implementation of a customized knowledge management system that will be deployed and integrated as part of an existing university management system that is currently in use at the Lebanese International University. This ultimate goal of such a system is to aid in the accomplishment of administrative and academic processes more effectively and efficiently.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze and to design knowledge management systems in the School of Information Systems at XYZ University, which will improve organization's performance and deliver innovation to organization as well as provide solutions when it's needed. Analytical method that used in this study consist of two methods namely data & information collection method and analysis & design information systems method. Data & information collection method was obtained based on literature review study, while analysis & design information systems method was obtained by using object based information systems with the unified processes. The conclusion from this research is knowledge management systems provide solutions to address the problem of managing knowledge in academic and operation area in the School of Information Systems, by designing web based information systems which can make the process of production and distribution knowledge more effective and more efficient.
Knowledge Management System- A STUDY.
International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Research Technology, 2014
Every organization and institute is facing the savior problem of generating the knowledge on the basis of their assets. Knowledge management is very indispensable for any organization. We discuss about the knowledge management through this paper. This paper provide an outline of knowledge management and how knowledge management is useful to improve the quality of the educational institute. With the help of knowledge management system we can manage any information. We can define knowledge management such as it is a gathering of interesting and useful information. Knowledge management is not a technology but knowledge management is a collection of process that manage information.
Developing Knowledge Management System for Public Higher Learning in Collaborative Environment
2007
Knowledge management system (KMS) becomes a common medium to distribute knowledge of these days by using the IT as enabler tools for everyone to reach, share with among the members, and used it from any workplace in world at any time. In the higher learning institution sectors, the collaboration tools of KMS explore the opportunity to create, gather, access, organize, distribute and disseminate the knowledge to their community of practice for many purposes such as learning process, R & D and others. This paper describes on the theoretical concept and approach of KMS that could be implementing in the public higher learning institution (PHLI) by showing on how the framework of KMS model is developed using Lotus Notes software. PHLI is considered the learning organization that fully supported by the government. The achievement in conducting this framework of the KMS is an added value for the any PHLI that need to implement the KMS, which can help them to achieve their aims and mission statements. The emphasis also will be given to the activities that may concern for each stage in the KM life cycle including the critical success factor (CSF) in order to make sure that KMS initiatives will delivered competitive advantage to the organization.

Knowledge Management (KM) is a process of development, retrieval, storage and improvement of knowledge and information from various sources within an organization. Knowledge storage for future usage is one of the basic motives behind knowledge management. KM has many useful domains and one of those domains can be its usage in creating effective learning environment in universities. Different batch of students pass every year and during this, they need to go through different academic activities. If managed in a proper way, knowledge from one generation of students can be transferred to another generation of students. This can be performed in many ways and one can be by the creation of web based knowledge-base. So this paper proposes to create a knowledge-base that can be used by many generations of students for their academic purposes in universities. A website with functions like posting problems, suggesting solutions, rating, commenting and reviewing on selected subject topics, if developed and used for a long time and by many generation of students, can turn itself into a dynamic knowledge-base, where a user can find relevant information on his/her subject matter.
A project of developing a knowledge management system
2015
Knowledge is an essential element of modern business and increasing attention is given to its acquisition, distribution and exploitation in everyday business activities. Therefore, KONČAR launched the development of a knowledge management system for its own demands and initiated a collaboration with the academic community for scientific research purposes and potential broader social significance of the project. With regard to the multidisciplinary nature of knowledge management, an agreement was reached with the University of Zagreb, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. The knowledge management system will enable an effective management of all segments of intellectual capital of an organization, resulting in increase in productivity and higher market competitiveness, as well as an increased capability for generating new values for all parties to the agreement.
KM Software Solution Аt Varna Free University – Comparative Analysis
Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Educational Technologies 2019, 2019
The role of Knowledge Management (KM) in the educational institutions is of great importance and the main function of educational organizations is the KM. KM includes the process of capturing, creating, disseminating and applying all forms of knowledge within an organization in order to fulfill institutional goals. The use of the KM solutions and principles can lead to more flexibility in teaching and learning processes and in university management. This paper presents findings of a case study conducted at Varna Free University (VFU). KM solution has to optimize the processes of development, dissemination and storage of knowledge at the Institute of Technology. Comparative analyses are provided to outline proper software for implementation and a prototype of KM system to be designed. The focus is to connect people, processes, and technology for the aim of leveraging knowledge. The success of this project depends on the active participation of the whole team of the Institute of Technology. This solution will allow for the creation of a common knowledge base to be developed in cooperation. The loss of personal knowledge can be prevented by sharing implicit knowledge in a wiki module. By accessing the organizational knowledge base, valuable information can be extracted and thus reduce the problems of leaving staff and training new staff. By linking structured content, it is possible to optimize search processes and support joint and individual research, training and administrative activities. Interdisciplinary references to additional information can improve the quality of learning processes, research and project activities, as well as administrative management.
Web-based Knowledge Management System for Camarines Norte State College
IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
One of the issues of the academic institution is knowledge management. How the academe disseminate information over the academic community on real time and the availability of knowledge anytime and anywhere is challenging task in every institution. The objective of this study is to develop Knowledge Management System for Camarines Norte State College that is capable of knowledge sharing, creating and knowledge repository. The developed KM system is designed specifically to cater the requirements of the academic institutions especially Camarines Norte State College in terms of knowledge management. A usability test was conducted to find out how far the academic community can interact efficiently and effectively and how far the system application provides user guidance, provide information, and provide consistent interaction. The pooled mean of the overall usability test was 4.55 with adjectival rating of SA or strongly agree, which means that the system has the functionality needed b...
