Cell phone radiation exposure on brain and associated biological systems
Indian journal of experimental biology, 2013
Wireless technologies are ubiquitous today and the mobile phones are one of the prodigious output of this technology. Although the familiarization and dependency of mobile phones is growing at an alarming pace, the biological effects due to the exposure of radiations have become a subject of intense debate. The present evidence on mobile phone radiation exposure is based on scientific research and public policy initiative to give an overview of what is known of biological effects that occur at radiofrequency (RF)/ electromagnetic fields (EMFs) exposure. The conflict in conclusions is mainly because of difficulty in controlling the affecting parameters. Biological effects are dependent not only on the distance and size of the object (with respect to the object) but also on the environmental parameters. Health endpoints reported to be associated with RF include childhood leukemia, brain tumors, genotoxic effects, neurological effects and neurodegenerative diseases, immune system dereg...

With 5.9 billion reported users, mobile phones constitute a new, ubiquitous and rapidly growing exposure worldwide. Mobile phones are two-way microwave radios that also emit low levels of electromagnetic radiation. Inconsistent results have been published on potential risks of brain tumors tied with mobile phone use as a result of important methodological differences in study design and statistical power. Some studies have examined mobile phone users for periods of time that are too short to detect an increased risk of brain cancer, while others have misclassified exposures by placing those with exposures to microwave radiation from cordless phones in the control group, or failing to attribute such exposures in the cases. In 2011, the World Health Organization, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) advised that electromagnetic radiation from mobile phone and other wireless devices constitutes a "possible human carcinogen," 2B. Recent analyses not considered in the IARC review that take into account these methodological shortcomings from a number of authors find that brain tumor risk is significantly elevated for those who have used mobile phones for at least a decade. Studies carried out in Sweden indicate that those who begin using either cordless or mobile phones regularly before age 20 have greater than a fourfold increased risk of ipsilateral glioma. Given that treatment for a single case of brain cancer can cost between 100,000forradiationtherapyaloneandupto100,000 for radiation therapy alone and up to 100,000forradiationtherapyaloneandupto1 million depending on drug costs, resources to address this illness are already in short supply and not universally available in either developing or developed countries. Significant additional shortages in oncology services are expected at the current growth of cancer. No other environmental carcinogen has produced evidence of an increased risk in just one decade. Empirical data have shown a difference in the dielectric properties of tissues as a function of age, mostly due to the higher water content in children's tissues. High resolution computerized models based on human imaging data suggest that children are indeed more susceptible to the effects of EMF exposure at microwave frequencies. If the increased brain cancer risk found in young users in these recent studies does apply at the global level, the gap between supply and demand for oncology services will continue to widen. Many nations, phone manufacturers, and expert groups, advise prevention in light of these concerns by taking the simple precaution of "distance" to minimize exposures to the brain and body. We note than brain cancer is the proverbial "tip of the iceberg"; the rest of the body is also showing effects other than cancers.

Quickly changing technologies and intensive uses of radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF)‑emitting phones pose a challenge to public health. Mobile phone users and uses and exposures to other wireless transmitting devices (WTDs) have increased in the past few years. We consider that CERENAT, a French national study, provides an important addition to the literature evaluating the use of mobile phones and risk of brain tumors. The CERENAT finding of increased risk of glioma is consistent with studies that evaluated use of mobile phones for a decade or longer and corroborate those that have shown a risk of meningioma from mobile phone use. In CERENAT, exposure to RF‑EMF from digitally enhanced cordless telephones (DECTs), used by over half the population of France during the period of this study, was not evaluated. If exposures to DECT phones could have been taken into account, the risks of glioma from mobile phone use in CERENAT are likely to be higher than published. We concl...
Research review on the biological effect of cell phone radiation on human
Innovations in Information …, 2008
The growth in the use of cellular phone has raised the concerns about the possible interaction between the electromagnetic fields (EMF) radiation and the biological effects on human tissues, particularly the brain and the human immune system. These concerns have induced a large volume of research studies. However, most of the previous review studies are concentrated on negative effects and no published work took in consideration all possible effects caused by the use of cell phones. In this paper we aim to provide review of some studies which investigated the possible negative and positive biological effects of cell phone radiation on human tissues. This review will provide answers for public concerns about the risk of using cell phone. Our conclusion shows that long-term exposure to EMF radiation from a cell phone could cause health effects, such as brain cancer. Some positive health effects due to the exposure to the EMF radiation such as improve bone healing and reduce toxic effects of chemotherapy are highlighted. Finally, some studies have also showed no effect due to exposure to EMF. More long-term studies and analysis are much needed
Mobile Phone Radiation Cause Cancer!!!
9. Radiation imbalance the human body and environment: Mobile phone must is creating electromagnetic radiation. It effect the human body and nature. 4 billion people use mobile phone and there is mobile phone must that lol all of a sudden the run over lots of mobile phone must. Mobile phone creates heating phenomena so that if we are holding the phone for long time besides the ear then some portion of the radiation causes our brain increasing the temperature besides the ear lobe.
AdverseEffects of Cell Phone Radiation on Human Health
The development of cell phone technology has caused biological effects on human. The cell phone is an integral part of our everyday life.It is used for multipurpose like a voice call, video call, browsing (Facebook, whatsApp, Viber, twitter, LinkedIn, online shopping etc.), chatting, listening music, meeting games, reading books etc. It implies that the usage of a cell phone is more than 16 hours a day.The purpose of this work is to find out the effects of cell phone on human wellness through this survey from students and docs. The cell phone emits the microwave radiations that are dangerous to different human body functions like the head, male/female organ, heart, eyes, ear damage because the human body holds 70% water. It surveyed from the various staff of medical doctorsof various hospitals and Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Students.According to thesurvey, the cell phone is more usable device besidesother gadgets and in the result, there are 95%.
Biological Effects of EM Radiations from Mobile Phones
Sultan Qaboos University Journal for Science [SQUJS]
Direct health effects could result following exposure to RF by thermal (heating effects). Recent Studies have shown that there are public fears on effects that can be caused mainly by holding mobile phones close to the body, or as a result of possible non-thermal effects from both phones and base stations. This paper offers an overview on the biological effects of electromagnetic radiation caused by mobile phones. Exposures of individuals to RF radiation from these sources will depend upon their proximity and may be above those from mobile phone base stations, although still well below guidelines. From a review of the scientific literature, it is concluded that there were no established health effects from exposure to the RF fields from mobile phones. However, there are gaps in knowledge requiring further research, but current knowledge suggests that RF exposure to levels below the guidelines were not a risk to health.
Health Risks of Electromagnetic Radiation from Mobile Phone on Brain of Rats
1994
Tremendous concerns have been raised about the possibility that exposure to the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) from mobile phones could affect people's health. This study was carried out in order to investigate the impact of exposure to the (EMR) of mobile phones. Since recent experimental studies suggest a possible link between mobile phone use and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in EMR-induced oxidative damage in tissues. In this study, rats were divided into three groups, The first group was used as control group and the other Two groups were exposed to 900 MHz EMR from mobile phone for one week (1 h/day) and for two weeks (1 h/day). Control group was prepared by turning off the mobile phone while the animals were in the same exposure conditions (sham exposed to EMR). Subsequently, oxidative stress markers and pathological changes in brain tissue were examined for all groups. The results indicated significant increase in plasma lipid peroxide (PLPO) and malondialdehyde (MDA) l...
A Review : Source and Effect of Mobile Communication Radiation on Human Health
2017
With improving technology and affordability, the number of cell phone users increases continuously. As the number of base stations required, increases with greater mobile phone use with market competition, and with new technological capabilities. The microwave frequencies used in the mobile communication causes the thermal and non-thermal effects and leaves negative impact up on biological system. The EMR emitted by the mobile antennas used at the base stations and mobile handsets used by user’s effects the cell structure of the living beings. Continuous and long term exposure to this radiation can have negative impact on biological system of human beings over the years. EMR are absorbed as it interacts with matter and transfers wave energy into the medium. The amount of RF-EMW radiation energy absorbed by human tissue depends on the frequency, intensity, polarization and duration of exposure. The EMR are also recognized as the major cause of cancer. Studies indicate that the popula...
