The Study of Psychological Endurance of the Elite Athletes in Turkey Depending on Their Ages and the League Playing in

The goal of the present research is to define and analyze the level of the psychological endurance of the professional football players in the first and second league of Turkey in different ages. The research is limited to the athletes in first in second leagues in season 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. The excerpt was chosen randomly, using the method of the random distribution as 105 athletes were chosen from the each league-total 210 athletes. We used the "Scale for psychological endurance" to define the levels for psychological endurance of the athletes. We calculated the average arithmetical value, the standard deviation, the percent ration and the frequency for the descriptive statistics. We have obtained our test results by the use of Mann-Whitney-U test. The package SPSS 18 was used for all the statistical analysis and the level 0.05 was defined for a statistically significant level.

The examination of the personality traits and optimal performance mood of the university athletes

Background and Study Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between personality traits and optimal performance mood in response to gender, sports branch, weekly training hours of the athletes competing in the university league variables. Material and Methods: A total of 250 volunteer athletes from 17 universities, 75 female and 175 male, participated in the study. 95 of the athletes are basketball and 155 are volleyball players. A Comparative Study of Psychological Hardiness in Athlete and Non-Athlete Students

The purpose of the present research was to compare psychological hardiness and coping strategies in female athlete and non-athlete students in Zahedan, Iran.The research is causal-comparative and the sample consists of 90 female athlete students and 90 female non-athlete students (19-30 years of age) who were selected using convenience sampling. Bartone's Psychological Hardiness Scale and Billings and Moos Coping Measures were used for data collection. The findings revealed that the psychological hardiness of athletes was significantly higher than that of the non-athletes (p< 0.05).Moreover, a significant difference was observed between the two groups in the components of psychological hardiness (p< 0.05). Regarding coping strategies, although the mean scores of the athlete group in the subscales of coping strategies (cognitive, behavioral, avoidance-focused, problem-focused, and emotion-focused) were higher than the scores of the non-athletes, the difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05).

The purpose of the research was to the effect of Therapeutic exercise and Health-Related Fitness programme on Physiological Efficiencies among young adults with respect to Breathing Holding Capacity. The subjects of the present study were taken from Two groups was targeted, both group is included 40 young adults considered as experimental group. Training was given to The Therapeutic exercise and Health-Related Fitness programme was planned as 12 weeks 4 days a week and 60 min. study was conducted Dept. of physical education, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded. The mean age of Therapeutic exercise and Health-Related Fitness programme groups were 21.62&24.42year; weight was 60.62&61.98kg and Height were 169.9&170.68cm. And S.D. of each group's was 1.89 & 1.43 year; weight was 5.32 &10.95kg and Height were 5.38 &7.54cm. The Mean scores and standard deviation were taken and paired ANCOVA was applied. 1) The results reveals that there was Insignificant effect of Therapeutic exercise and Health-Related Fitness programme on Breathing Holding Capacity (Inspiration) (F= 0.67). 2) The results reveals that there was significant effect of Therapeutic exercise and Health-Related Fitness programme on Breathing Holding Capacity (Expiration) (F=13.25). It was found that Therapeutic exercise and Health-Related Fitness programme improvement of the Breathing Holding Capacity (Expiration) among young adults.

Psychological characteristics of athletes in regional training center

High achievment in sports requires behavior with certain qualities. Likewise, with successful athletes, they have superior qualities not only in terms of physical but also mentality. This study aims at examining psychological characteristic because it’s one of the important factors possessed by athletes, and can influence them in. The sample used in this study are 198 East Java athletes who participates in the training center from 21 sports. The instrument used for psychological characteristics in this study is the SKPA (Scale of Psychological Characteristics for Athletes) with a factor loading value > 0.5, so that each item is valid in measuring it’s dimensions, and it’s known that the conbrach’s alpha value for each dimension is 0.7. Abstract: Purpose of this study is to determine the impact of sport on personality. The sample of the study is made up of 50 university students who do not exercise regularly and participate in the study voluntarily. The students participating in the study are given fitness training 4 days a week for 3 months. To determine the personality of the students participating in the study to assess personality characteristics Adjective Based Personality Test (SDKT) developed by Bacanlı et al (2009) was used. SPSS 20 software package was used to analyze the data obtained. Supplementary statistics and co-sample t-test were used to analyze the data. A Comparative study of Personality characteristics of female sports person and non sports person at Delhi University

A lot of sports officials, coaches, team managers, and athletes talk about the benefits and significance of sports psychology but rarely include it in their training regimen, the researcher initiated this work to assess and compare the personality characteristics between the female sports and non sports person at Delhi University. The descriptive research design was used to gather data about the personality characteristics of female sports and non-sports person. Respondents were composed of 56 (28 Sports Person & 28 Non-sports person) females selected randomly from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi, with age ranging from 17-21 years, the selected category of sportsperson were having minimum intercollegiate level participation in their respective sport. The instrument used was the Manchester personality questionnaire (MPQ), a 90-item standardized questionnaire which measures 14 attributes of personality. The collected data was analyzed by employing descriptive statistics i.e. Mean and standard deviation followed by Independent sample‘t’ test, the sports person are ranging between average category to High category (i.e. 5-7), whereas the non-sports persons ranges between Low to High Average category (i.e. 3-6) for the selected sub-scales of the personality, whereas for the Big-5 factors the sports person are ranging between average category to High average category (i.e. 5-6), whereas the non-sports persons ranges between Low average to Average category (i.e. 4-5) for the selected sub-scales of the personality, a significant difference had been found as the value was found to be 4.517, which was significant at 0.05 level.

Psychological Skills Analysis of Students Studying at Ataturk University Faculty of Sports Science

The objective of this research is to compare the psychological skills of students studying at Ataturk University Faculty of Sports Science with different variables and analyze such skills' correlation. Population of the research consists of 1200 students studying at the Faculty of Sports Science whereas the sample group consists of 219 participants in total, being 137 male and 82 female students. For the research, Personal Information Form was used to collect demographic characteristics of the participants whereas Athletic Coping Skill Inventory was used to collect other research data. Various statistical analyses were carried out on the data gathered from the participants by using IBM SPSS Statistics v21.0 software. Shapiro-Wilk test was performed to test whether participant surveys were compliant with the normal distribution; and as a result of the test, it was concluded that the data did not show a normal distribution. Data was analyzed using non-parametric tests. As a result of the study, significant differences were detected between certain variables, such as the gender of the participants and their sport branches, and the scores in certain sub-scales of the Athletic Coping Skill Inventory. Significant correlations were also found among its sub-scales.

Comparative Study of Personality Factors Between Sportspersons of Contact and Non-Contact Sports

The main purpose of the present study was to compare the personality factors between the sportspersons of the contact and non-contact sports. Big five personality inventory was employed among the sportsperson selecting randomly from colleges of Ganderbal Kashmir region. The size of sample under study was 70, in which 26 were from contact sports (football, hockey, kabaddi, basketball, handball and rugby) and 44 were from non-contact sports (cricket, volleyball, badminton, baseball, ball badminton and shooting ball). The groups were compared on different factors of personality i.e, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness. The results show almost same personality characteristics exist between the sportspersons of contact and non-contact sports, since calculated ‘t’ values of 0.76 (extraversion), 0.31 (agreeableness), 1.05 (conscientiousness), 0.05 (neuroticism) and 1.1 (openness) for five personality factors were not found statistically significant (p≤0...
