Introduction : Traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) are not uncommon but there is a notableinadequacyregarding dentists’ readiness to manage these injuries. Proper immediate management of TDIs increases the long-term prognosis of traumatized teeth and depends extremely on dentists’ knowledge. The aim of this study was to evaluate knowledge and self-reported practice of dentists regarding management of TDIs. Materials and Methods : The participants of this cross-sectional study were dentists in annual congress of Iranian Dental Association. A valid and reliable questionnaire consisting demographic information, the working experience regarding TDIs, knowledge, and self-reported practice towards emergency management of TDIs was distributed among 260 dentists. Context. Studies about knowledge of emergency management of traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) which affect children by general dental practitioners (GDPs) and specialists in Saudi Arabia are lacking. Aim The aim of this cross-sectional study was to assess the knowledge level of GDPs and specialists about TDI emergency management and its relation with demographic variables in Qassim region, Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods. A random sample of 239 GDPs and specialists was given a two-part questionnaire; the first part included demographic questions and the second part included questions related to knowledge of emergency management of luxation (intrusion and extrusion), complicated crown fracture, and avulsion injuries. Data was statistically analyzed using chi-square and ordinal logistic regression tests. The significance was set at P < 0.05. Results The mean knowledge score was 5.57 for GDPs and 6.69 for specialists (out of 12). A significant difference was observed between both groups in the management of avulsion injury. Three factors significantly improved the dentists' knowledge: gender (female), practice type (specialist), and previous experience of encountered TDIs (P < 0.05. Conclusions GDPs and specialists in Qassim region had moderate knowledge of emergency management of TDIs. Specialists were significantly more knowledgeable than GDPs in the management of avulsion injury when compared to the rest of the injuries.

Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge of dental practitioners in Central Indian region, regarding the treatment and management of dental traumatic injuries,using the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) Guidelines 2020 as a reference. Materials and Methods: A total of 514 dental practitioners across Central India participated in a cross-sectional study by means of virtual survey. A two part electronic questionnaire was created using google forms, investigating 7 profession based questions and 16 trauma based questions and were sent to all the dentists registered with Dental Council of India in Central India.The responses were analysed to evaluate the awareness among dental practitioners regarding the management of dental traumatic injuries. Statistical Analysis: Descriptive statistics was performed by using the proportional or frequency distribution of the parameters. The respondents were then grouped according to the branch of speciality if any and the data was evaluated by the one-way ANOVA with post-hoc, with p value <0.005. Results: In the present study, out of a total score of 20,the mean knowledge score for dental practitioners was 8.20 (only 54.86% of the 20 questions were answered correctly) and 282 participants out of 514 had an average level of knowledge, Conclusion: The overall level of knowledge of dentists from Central India region of the revised IADT guidelines is average.

ABSTRACTObjective: The purpose of the present study was to assess the knowledge of General dentist regarding the management of dental traumatic injuries of primary teeth. Materials and Methods: A total of 100 general dentists were selected and a validated questionnaire was distributed among the dentist to assess their knowledge on treatment strategies regarding traumatized primary teeth. Statistical Analysis: Data were entered into SPSS version 20.0 for percentages. The correct answers were tested in relation to the dentists' years of experience using the Chi-square test. Results: Analyzing the questionnaire for knowledge, 49% of dentists answered accurately regarding avulsed primary teeth, 36% of dentists answered appropriately regarding crown and root fractures, and 55% of dentists gave appropriate answers regarding luxation injuries. Knowledge of Turkish general dentists about traumatic dental injuries

Aim The purpose of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of Turkish dentists on different scenarios in dental traumatology. Materials and methods A two-part online questionnaire was used to collect data. The first part included questions about practitionersʼ demographics, their meeting frequency for trauma cases, their self-evaluated knowledge, educational information about dentistry. The second part included multiple-choice for 10 clinical scenarios about a variety of dental trauma cases and their complications. Results A total of 472 questionnaires returned. 55.5% of participants were general dentists. Overall, 7.8% reported extensive and comprehensive knowledge about dental trauma, 55.3% considered their dental traumatology knowledge to be sufficient, but incomplete, and 36.9% self-evaluated their knowledge as insufficient. 40.9% of participants refer their patients for diagnosis and treatment mostly to endodontists, pediatric dentists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons. In questionnaire 2, overall the correct answer average was 5.79 based on 10 clinical scenarios. The average of correct answer in 1–5 years experience group was significantly higher than the groups having experience over 10 years. Conclusion Turkish general dentists demonstrated insufficient knowledge regarding the management of traumatized teeth. Informing the students during their undergraduate education and encouraging the clinicians to follow the updates in trauma guidelines may be beneficial for a higher success in trauma cases. Dental trauma is a common emergency in dental practice, especially in children and adolescents. Deciduous and permanent anterior teeth are not only important for aesthetic reason but are also necessary for phonetics, mastication integrity of supporting tissues, psychological and mental well being of children. This study was planned to explore the knowledge of 227 general dental practitioners regarding the management of dental traumatic injuries of primary teeth by a structured questionnaire. Analyzing the questionnaire for knowledge 47% of dentists answered accurately regarding avulsed primary teeth, 39% of dentists answered appropriately regarding crown and root fractures and 57% of dentists gave appropriate answers regarding luxation injuries. The results show the lack of knowledge among general dental practitioners regarding injuries of primary teeth and need to increase awareness and the knowledge of the treatment of traumatic injuries in primary teeth.
