Analysis of The Four Pillars of Tourism Development Planning in The Tourism Areas of Kretek, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Tourism sector has played an important role in economic development in Kretek district of Bantul regency. Tourism is main life style of Kretek People. Result of current research indicated that Kretek district has many superior destinations that have not been worked maximally. Its tourism product was stagnant and tourism attraction decreased. The condition requires government intervention as one of stakeholders particularly in determining policy and capital. Product diversification and revitalization should be done in the industry to improve quality and quantity of tourism product. The product is offered by Kretek destination as potential one. It is marketed by brand strengthening, promotion and partnership with other parties.

Tourist Destination Development Strategies and the Impact on Tourist Visits Case Study: Pura Gunung Kawi in Sebatu Village, Gianyar, Bali

Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu is a tourist destination in Bali. The temple is located in Sebatu Village, Tegallalang, Gianyar Regency. However, unlike most tourist destinations in general, Gunung Kawi Temple is infrequently visited by both foreign and domestic tourists, especially when compared with similar destinations, such as Pura Tirta Empul Tampaksiring. Facts on the tourism issues that emerged in Karangasem Regency showed a lack of synergy between spatial planning and tourism destination planning. In addition, tourism development in Karangasem Regency is vulnerable to exploitation of natural and cultural resources. The Tourism and Culture Department has made a program to develop the Gandoriah-Sunur Beach tourism destination as a Pariaman City Tourism Strategic Area (KSPK), West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Tourism Development Strategy in Gunung Salak Tourism Village Kecamatan (Sub District) Selemadeg Timur, Kabupaten (District) Tabanan Bali -Indonesia

The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of tourism in terms of Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity, Ancillary Service and to formulate alternative tourism development strategies in Gunung Salak Tourism Village. This research uses descriptive methods with qualitative and quantitative approaches and uses primary and secondary data. Such as collecting data through literature study methods, observation, questionnaires, interviews, Focus Group Discussion, and documentation. The sample in this study is 25 people who were determined by purposive sampling consisting of elements of government / institutional village offices, traditional villages of Gunung Salak, local communities and tourists. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive method and strategy analysis through SWOT analysis with IFAS (Internal Factors Analysis Summary) and EFAS (External Factors Analysis Summary) models. The results showed that the IFAS value was 3.23 while the EFAS value of 3.04 placed a general strategy for the development of Gunung Salak Tourism Village, which is located in cell I, which has the characteristics of growth and build (grow and build). Based on the characteristics of these strategies, alternative strategies to support tourism development in Gunung Salak Tourism Village are: development of diversification of tourism products, development of tourism supporting facilities and infrastructure, institutional formation and management of tourism village management through Bumdes supported by professional human resources in the tourism sector and increased community participation, as well as increasing the synergy of cross-sectoral cooperation (government, community, tourism business actors) in developing tourism products, marketing and promoting tourism in Gunung Salak Tourism Village.

Strategic Issues of Tourism Destination In Indonesia: Are They Market Ready?

This study explores issues related to tourism destination marketing, particularly for the government acting as the Destination Management Organization (DMO). Despite the significance of T&T in generating revenue streams for local governments, there is an issue of awareness in the context of marketing readiness. To date, regions have succeeded in harvesting its tourism potential in the form of an increased number of visits and receipts. The tendency of most regions in Indonesia to explore and exploit tourism potential via branding and promotion strategies had overwhelmingly seen as a basic need. This study is qualitative by employing the use of a case study as a strategy of inquiry with thirteen respondents participated in this study. Preliminary findings in this study suggest that although the promotions and branding activities utilized as a means of marketing strategy, nonetheless competitiveness of tourism destination in fulfilling experiences remains problems to be solved.

Destination Development for Rural Tourism Area in Wanayasa, Puwakarta, West Java, Indonesia

This purpose of this paper is to elaborate the understanding of destination development of rural tourism in Wanayasa, Purwakarta, Jawa Barat. It has a rich potential for the rural tourism prosperity. Then author incorporates destination development through Butler‘s Area Life Cycle. Research was conducted in August 2015 with qualitative approaches i.e. interview and focus group discussion to 120 respondents which comprises representation from several different group. In addition, some of data also produced from secondary sources such as government regulation and official website. The Position of Stakeholders Involved in The Collaboration of the Tourism Destination Governance in Pangandaran, West Java - Indonesia

Pangandaran is one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia which has developed and has fairly strategic potential to encourage the regional and state economy. The rapid development of tourism in Pangandaran turned out to cause various problems. This is due to the lack of synergy among the roles of stakeholders involved in Pangandaran tourism management. In 2010, the Destination Management Organization (DMO) concept was implemented as an effort to improve the tourism destination governance in Pangandaran. This concept emphasizes the form of collaboration among stakeholders from community groups, the private sectors, and the government. The collaboration is led by the destination management organization (DMO) which serves as mediator, facilitator, and coordinator among the three stakeholder groups. This research is conducted in Pangandaran Village using mixed method which combines quantitative and qualitative research methods aimed to analyze the stakeholders who are involved in tourism destination governance in Pangandaran based on the DMO concept. From the results of the study, it is found that there are ten stakeholders who have high involvement on the tourism destination governance in Pangandaran. All of them have high level of interest and power, but there is one stakeholder who has high interest but low power in DMO-based tourism destination governance collaboration.

Strategy for developing excellent tourist destination (A case study of Gurabunga Village, Tidore Island Municipality, North Maluku)
