Android-Based Application for Children’s Growth Monitoring as a Complement for Child Development Card

Posyandu is a community activity center to provide health services and family planning. Routine monthly weighing for toddlers is one of the activities carried out by the Posyandu. This activity aims to detect early childhood growth disorders to address these problems quickly and precisely. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic, the toddler Posyandu, held regularly every month, has been temporarily suspended until the pandemic ends. This situation causes monitoring of toddlers' growth, and development cannot be done. Therefore we need a mechanism for monitoring child growth and development that can be done online via a smartphone. Background: The child population in Indonesia in 2018 was 27.6% of the total population. Child is a development asset that requires large investments in health, education, and welfare for a better future. Therefore, innovation is needed in monitoring and stimulating children's growth and development. Method: The application design used was the waterfall method. The design stage started from analyzing user needs, application design, coding, and testing. Results: SIMANTAP application consists of two modules, namely 1. Monitoring and Stimulation of growth and development in children and 2. Additional Information. The application starts from the login page, main page, and content page. Conclusion: Information technology can provide opportunities for the advancement of modern health care. This opportunity can be exploited by increasing the knowledge of parents' attitudes and behavior regarding monitoring and stimulation of growth and development in children. This technology can help health workers provide evidence-based health information and can assist parents in monitoring and stimulating children's health.

Sahabat Terbaik Anak Application (Nutritional Information for Children Stunting Prevention in the first 1000 days based on Android) using the Waterfall Method

This research aims to help the community in providing information on good nutritional intake to children. By using this application, it is hoped that the community can monitor and optimize children's growth during the first 1000 days, with a focus on stunting prevention. This Sahabat Terbaik Anak app (information about the importance of good nutrition and helps in monitoring children's growth) uses a waterfall model. The system includes an Android mobile app, which allows users to search for articles about children's growth and development according to the month and efficiency while traveling. The four phases of this system are data collection, design, implementation, and testing. The system provides an easy-to-use interface to provide nutrition monitoring, physical growth, and education for parents on the importance of balanced nutritional intake. Children's friends can provide solutions to reduce stunting in children.

Developing systems application based on android as tool for determinant stunting factors in the COVID-19 pandemic era

The increase in the number of internet users and the more affordable prices of smartphones make it easier for people to access various information quickly, accurately, and precisely wherever they are. Social media is one of the internet applications whose usage is becoming increasingly widespread in society. This includes parents with toddlers. Parents of toddlers are part of the community that often uses social media as a means to build social relationships in the virtual world. It has been found that they need information regarding their toddlers' development. This application is expected to serve as a means to enhance parents' knowledge in caring for their toddlers by providing information about their development. Therefore, a growth and development guide for toddlers that is designed to be attractive and informative is needed. BackgroundMobile devices provide new opportunities for the prevention of overweight and obesity in children. We aimed to co-create and test an app that offered comprehensible feedback to parents on their child’s growth and delivered a suite of age-specific information about nutrition and activity.MethodsA two-phased approach was used to co-create the digital growth tool—See How They Grow—and test its feasibility. The Utilization of Android-Based Application as a Stunting Prevention E-Counseling Program Innovation during Covid-19 Pandemic

Background: Stunting in children is one of the most significant barriers to human development, globally affecting approximately 162 million children under 5 years of age. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the development of communication and information media such as smartphones has encouraged the creation of various kinds of application-based health innovations known as mobile health. The purpose of this study was to analyze the utilization of android-based applications as a stunting prevention e-counseling program innovation in the Covid-19 pandemic era. Subjects and Method: This research was a systematic review. The articles were selected from Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Elsevier. The keywords for this review are: prevention, education, stunting counseling, Covid-19, android-based stunting prevention application, stunting counseling application during the Covid-19 pandemic, application for stunting, android application for stunting. The search process to exclude the articles used for this literature review using the PRISMA method. Results: The results showed that the existence of an Android-based stunting prevention application innovation can make it easier for the public to monitor health, obtain the education, and provide counseling to health workers. This is in line with government policies during the Covid-19 pandemic which urges the public to limit activities. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is android-based applications are very friendly if used by the wider community because they can access information anytime and anywhere, are more flexible, and affordable.

A Smartphone App for Families With Preschool-Aged Children in a Public Nutrition Program: Prototype Development and Beta-Testing

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in the United States provides free supplemental food and nutrition education to low-income mothers and children under age 5 years. Childhood obesity prevalence is higher among preschool children in the WIC program compared to other children, and WIC improves dietary quality among low-income children. The Children Eating Well (CHEW) smartphone app was developed in English and Spanish for WIC-participating families with preschool-aged children as a home-based intervention to reinforce WIC nutrition education and help prevent childhood obesity. Usability assessment using m-Health app usability questionnaire on the iPosyandu application in Central Sulawesi

The iPosyandu mobile application is one of the android-based smartphone applications that contains information about the growth and development of babies/toddlers and about pregnancy as an effort to reduce maternal mortality rate (MMR). This study's objective is to evaluate the usability of the iPosyandu mobile application and offer modifications to increase its reusability. The study was conducted on 88 pregnant women at the Lere Health Center and Kinovaro Health Center which were divided into 44 people from signaling areas and 44 people from signal-difficult areas using mixed method research with an explanatory sequential design. The m-Health app usability questionnaire (MAUQ) is employed in the quantitative stage, whereas the focus group discussions (FGD) approach is used in the qualitative stage. The calculation of the MAUQ score in this study showed that each statement item contained in 3 variables or aspects in the MAUQ questionnaire got a good score with a total average scale of 6.26 (89.41%) in the signaled area and 6.29 (89.81%) in the signal-difficult area where the score was >4. There are still some barriers to using the program, thus enhancements must be done to increase user comfort.
