REVIEW ANALYSIS ON IMPORTANCE OF SWARM INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS
IJCSMC, 2019
Swarm robotic technology is the utilization of swarm intelligence principles to the control of robots groups. Active echolocation is a tangible methodology controlled by a variety of mammals and has utilized for the identifying, understanding, and localization of objects. In this paper, we select distinct articles related to swarm intelligence and made a review on them. Besides, this paper clearly describes the importance of swarm robotics to explain how these technologies are helping animals to locate their foods, communicating with others, and in real-time applications as well.
A Review on Swarm Robotics: From Concept to Development
Swarm Intelligence (SI) is the collective behaviour of decentralized, self-organized systems inspired from natural biological systems such as ant colonies, bird flocking, animal herding, bacterial growth, and fish schooling. Swarm Robotics (SR) is an emerging application of swarm principles to robots, it is the study of how to design groups of homogeneous, small and cheap robots that mimicking insects and animals and acts together for robust, scalable and flexible swarm robotic systems. Swarm robots operate without depending upon any external control and infrastructure, the behaviour of robots depends on interactions between robots and between the robots and the environment in which they act. Swarm Robotics has effectively applied in tasks that are risky and difficult for human being or single robot. This Paper is a review of swarm robotics from origin to its future. It contains discussion on introduction to swarm robotics, design of robot swarm, design of robotics collective behaviours, and interaction mechanism and future of swarm robotics.
Swarm intelligence and its applications in swarm robotics
This work gives an overview of the broad field of computational swarm intelligence and its applications in swarm robotics. Computational swarm intelligence is modelled on the social behavior of animals and its principle application is as an optimization technique. Swarm robotics is a relatively new and rapidly developing field which draws inspiration from swarm intelligence. It is an interesting alternative to classical approaches to robotics because of some properties of problem solving present in social insects, which is flexible, robust, decentralized and self-organized. This work highlights the possibilities for further research.
Swarm Intelligent in Bio-Inspired Perspective: A Summary
Computer Engineering and Applications Journal, 2018
This paper summarizes the research performed in the field of swarm intelligent in recent years. The classification of swarm intelligence based on behavior is introduced. The principles of each behaviors, i.e. foraging, aggregating, gathering, preying, echolocation, growth, mating, clustering, climbing, brooding, herding, and jumping are described. 3 algorithms commonly used in swarm intelligent are discussed. At the end of summary, the applications of the SI algorithms are presented.
Swarm robotics is a fast growing field of multi-robotics. In thisnumber of robots are coordinated in a distributed and uncentralised way. It is based on the use common rules, and simple robots compared to the nature of the task which is to achieve, this task may be complex.Swarm robotics is inspired by social insects. Large number of simple robots is able to perform complex tasks in a more efficient way than a single robot. This improves the efficiency and provides flexibility the group. In this article, an overview of swarm robotics is given, describing its main properties and characteristics and comparing it to general multi-robotic systems. A discussion of the future swarm robotics in real world applications completes this work.
A Review on Swarm Intelligence System
The conventionally used robots are for real life work of large size and have complexity in construction and programming. Sometimes, the size of robots affects the external environmental conditions and the scenario around it. The construction cost of robot for a long duration and on a larger working area is much larger. The maintenance of robust robots is also a big problem due to complexity in the construction and materials used for construction. This paper highlights and discusses the alternative and more economical and more efficient method can be used in real practice. The concept of natural Swarm Intelligence can be used artificially as " Artificial Swarm Intelligence ". The task can be performed by number of small robots which will work collectively as per swarm intelligence seen in nature like ant colonies, flocks of birds, etc. The efficiency of work and time taken for completion of task will be much less as it will be done by a group collectively.
International Journal of Science and Research (IJSR), 2015
Swarm robotics is an approach to collect robotics that takes inspiration from the self-organized behaviors of social animals. Swarm robotics is the study of how to design group of robots that operate without relying on any external infrastructure or on any form of centralized control. It is inspired from the social animals. The aim of this paper is to give a glimpse of swarm robots, algorithm for their design and applications. This paper gives a brief knowledge of the Ant colony optimization (ACO) and Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. These are the algorithms that can be used in swarm robot artificial intelligence. This paper also gives a view of the design of a robotic swarm.
Bio-Inspirations and Physical Configurations of Swarm-Bot
International Journal of Advance Robotics & Expert Systems (JARES)
Scientists and engineers in the whole time history have turned to nature for encouragement and dreams for trouble solving for the real time environments. By observing the performance of groups of bees and ants are working together has given to a rise to the 'swarm intelligence concepts'. One of the most interesting and new explore area of recent decades towards the impressive challenge of robotics is the design of swarm robots that are self-independent and self intelligence one. This concept can be essential for robots exposed to environment that are shapeless or not easily available for an individual operator, such as a distorted construction, the deep sea, or the surface of another planet. In this paper, we present a study on the basic bio-inspirations of swarm and its physical configurations, such as reconfigurability, replication and self-assembly. By introducing the swarm concepts through swarm-bot, which offers mainly miniaturization with robustness, flexibility and scalability. This paper discusses about the various swarmbot intelligence, self-assembly and self-reconfigurability among the most important and capabilities as well as functionality to swarm robots.
