Teaching is a noble profession' is an oft repeated adage that we have heard and will continue to hear in the future. This saying is pregnant with meaning. As a profession it (teaching) is laden with risk and responsibility. It calls for greater commitment, personal integrity and ideal service to society at large. Teachers, as professionals, are engaged in one of the most ethically demanding jobs, the education of young people; thus it is important that teachers should constantly reflect on the ethics of their activities to ensure that they exhibit the best ethical example possible in their work to those they are morally educating. There is a felt need that teachers as professionals need to conduct themselves befitting the type of profession they practice. This paper is an attempt to bring to light some of the important aspects of professional ethics and its implications in the field of teaching that are essential for the attainment of professional excellence and selfsatisfaction among the teachers and other stakeholders.

The main principles and values of professional teaching ethics and their application in education

The author discusses professional teaching ethics and its main principles and values. The theoretical basis of the study is ethics of social consequences and, in its context, primarily the principles and values of humanity and human dignity, including their possible application in the teaching profession and, partially, in the process of teaching foreign languages and Slovak as a foreign language to students from abroad.

A STUDY OF TEACHING AND DISPLAYING ETHICS BY THE TEACHERS

Teachers are supposed to follow and reflect the ethics as practiced by other professionals. Some morals are followed inadvertently where as others are ignored because the teachers does not obey the commitments of good and bad but they keep a balance between many other commitments also. Therefore the practices coming into play may not be the same as perceived essential hence the study becomes indispensable to dig out the realities on ground. This study focuses on identification of teaching ethics being practiced and their consequent effect there on. Effort was geared on the utilization of the students' perceptions about ethics followed and practiced by their teachers. It was a quantitative survey based on the survey of opinions of the students of nine universities where in a likert type scale was used with seven graduations. Descriptive and t statistics were used to draw the inferences. It could be found that the ethics emerge out of the personal traits of teachers as per perceptions of male and female students.

The role and importance of the problem of ethics in education

The purpose of this research; To evaluate the role and importance of the ethical problem in education through the ethical perceptions of primary school teacher candidates. The research was designed in accordance with the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research designs. In this research, 40 teacher candidates studying in primary school teaching departments in various universities in Kazakhstan in the 2021-2022 academic year constitute the study group of the research. Research data were collected through a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. As a result of the research; Primary school teacher candidates' views on ethical behaviors in the teaching profession were evaluated, and teachers ranked ethical behaviors as professional commitment, justice/equality, honesty/reliability, objectivity/impartiality, professional development, respect and professionalism. The pre-service teachers who participated in the research described discrimination, professional abuse, bribery, indiscipline and irresponsibility as unethical behaviors. In addition, the majority of teacher candidates participating in the research stated that the role of ethical behavior in the teaching profession is very effective. It is necessary to increase the courses taken by pre-service teachers during their education on professional ethics, and the course content should be developed in order to ensure their development.

Code of Ethics for Teachers: A Dilemma

Teacher training courses have been prioritizing the cognitive domain at the expense of the affective domain with a strong ethical component characteristic of the academic routine. Ethical dilemmas faced in the teaching practice inspired us to bring an overview of aspects addressed by the literature and some codes of ethics for teachers. Adopting these codes or not is a controversial issue. This text aims to bring up this controversy as a contribution to the professionalization of educators, so that they are able to anticipate ethical dilemmas situation at school, in its complexity and contradiction, giving them a better forwarding. Thus, it is expected that future teachers will be prepared to face these situations in students, colleagues and institutions relationship. Code of Ethics and the Ethical Decision-making Model as a Support in Teachers' Professional Practice

Educators are confronted by specific ethical issues in their everyday work. However, awareness of these issues, the search for answers to them and their consideration, demand due diligence and time. Thus, the importance of ethics and its impact may be downplayed. An educator aims to pay attention to the development of a child/student, especially with respect to the environment or social setting itself, and the responsibility toward society itself is evident from this. The educator's responsibility should also be related to the profession itself and the social perception of the teaching profession. The aim of the research was to examine whether a school's code of ethics and the training to use an Ethical Decision making Model could be used to support teachers in solving ethical dilemmas. The research sample consisted of teaching staff working at a primary school in Prague. The teachers work in the first stage of primary school. The selected primary school has a code of ethics as an internal regulation. In total, five interviews with teachers were conducted. Respondents agreed that the Code of Ethics and Ethical Decision making Model are good support for their professional practice.
