The experimental activities in physics learning are intended to build students' understanding of the concepts of physics. The limitations of experimental equipment have an impact on the low understanding of students' physics concepts. Virtual media can be used as an alternative experimental tool to improve students' conceptual understanding. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of virtual experiments in increasing students' understanding of the concepts of vibration and waves. Quasiexperimental research was conducted using the pretest and posttest control group design. The number of respondents was 40 students who were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The research data were analyzed by N-gain test to determine the level of increase in mastery of concepts using virtual experiments that have been used. The results showed that the achievement level of the experimental group was better than the control group. It can be concluded that virtual experiments are effective in increasing the understanding of students' physics concepts.

This study aimed to determine the difference of student's activities and learning outcome with PBL using macromedia flash and handout. The sample were selected using purposive sampling into experimental group I and experimental group II with 60 students. The experimental group I used the PBL using macromedia flash, while the experimental group II used the PBL using handout. The results indica ted that the mean scores of student's activities and learning outcome in the experimental group II were significantly higher than those in the experimental group I. Thus, there was a difference in student's activities and learning outcome. The correlation test between student's activities and learning outcome presented that the experimental group I rcount>rtable (0.625>0.361) and the experimental group II rcount>rtable (0.683>0.361), it concluded that there was a positive correlation between student's activities and learning outcome with PBL using macromedia flash and handout.

STATISTICAL SURVEY OF THE OUTCOME OF EFFECTIVE USE OF COMPUTER SIMULATIONS IN STUDENTS' LEARNING
EDULEARN17 9th International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies, 2017
Computer simulations are designed for our 1st year students who study physics during the second semester and aim at enhancing students' understanding of physics phenomena and laws, and their practical laboratory skills. In order to enhance self-learning and group-learning activities we created a virtual physics laboratory where computer simulations are being used. Over the last decade, we have developed several computer simulations using Adobe Flash, HTML5 and JavaScript technologies. We reported considerable progress in students' ability to work in the physics laboratory and a significant increase of their scores at lab tests and final exams. This paper describes a statistical survey conducted to analyze the improvement of students' scores at their lab tests and in final physics exams in the last five academic years. Our statistical study collected descriptive statistical data from students studying both in Romanian (RO) and in English (EN) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services of ``Gheorghe Asachi{''} Technical University, Iasi (Romania) and contains inferential statistical results. Statistical analysis was performed for a total of 753 students including 534 students who study in Romanian (RO) and 219 students who study in English (EN). We noticed a rising tendency of high marks (8-10) and medium marks (5-7) in final exams. Therefore, marks rose by 23.83 \% at courses taught in Romanian and by 9.42 \% at courses taught in English, which means an average rise by 19.06 \% from 2012-2013 to 2016-2017. With regards to laboratory marks, there was a rise by 13.17 \% at laboratories taught in Romanian, by 18.75 \% at laboratories taught in English, namely a general average rise by 14.33 \% (RO) + (EN). Furthermore, two thirds of the students improved their scores because they used the virtual physics laboratory. The findings of the statistical survey prove that learning improved considerably due to the use of computer simulations and virtual physics laboratory.

Education takes an important part in shaping the personality and abilities of a nation. Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to develop spiritual strength, self-control, personality, and skills (Fajariyah et al., 2016). The education system in Indonesia follows the National Education System which will bring progress and development to the nation. Currently the world continues to develop, so the education system needs to adjust the times that continue to develop. For this reason, the education system is required to use and be able to process educational resources efficiently and effectively (Munirah, 2015). Currently efforts to improve the quality of education face obstacles, where the current final evaluation of national learning is no longer determined by the National Examination but is fully determined by the school. Data obtained from UNESCO states that the quality of educators is an important component in education (Arifa & Prayitno, 2019). The main task of educators is to condition the environment to support changes in student behavior. Chemistry learning emphasizes on providing hands-on learning experiences through the development of process skills and scientific attitudes. Chemistry learning can be implemented if the teacher-teacher interaction. The use of learning media can help the limitations of educators in delivering lessons in class.

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of a virtual parabolic motion practicum based on macromedia flash on the growth of students' science process skills. The research was carried out at SMA Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung, with a population of all students in class X MIPA, and a sample of class X MIPA 1 as many as 36 students with purposive sampling technique. By using a research design that is one group pretest-posttest. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, the two related sample test, and the N-Gain test. The results showed that there was a difference between the average pretest and posttest values of 7.00 with an N-Gain score of 0.2 with low criteria. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of a virtual parabolic motion practicum based on macromedia flash has an effect on growing Science Process Skills in students

This research intends to develop the teaching material macromedia flash based as the solution of the low understanding of science concept. This research examines the advantages and disadvantages of teaching material based on the responses of several sources who are lectures, university students, teachers, and students. Teaching material of science is expected to be used by teachers, lectures, and students and also related parties. The teaching material macromedia flash of science was specially designed to reduce the low understanding of science concept. Method used is developmental research. The result of students' average score achieved based on the identification through science diagnostic test revealed that in category of guessing answer the percentage is 4.65%, correct answer is 18.14%, lack of material understanding is 22.17%, and miss concept is 55.04%. This research was conducted to identify the miss concept in science based on diagnostic test. The result of limited test in some school revealed that the average of students' score in category of guessing the answer is 2.74%, correct answer is 76.02%, lack of material understanding is 10.89%, and miss concept is 10.35%. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a reduction in the error rate concept of science after using teaching material macromedia flash based.

The negative impact of the development of information technology in the form of smartphones triggers students lazy to learn. But the positive impact can increase student activity and learning achievement because students can play while learning. This was experienced by students of Qaryah Thayyibah Elementary School in Purwokerto, Indonesia. In the process of teaching and learning at the elementary school is still using books so that students' interest in learning is lacking, especially science subjects. But on the other hand, students really like playing with their smartphones. This is the reason for doing research on the development of Android-based learning media using the Flash application. The method used in conducting this research is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). The development of this multimedia method is carried out based on six stages, namely concept, design, collecting material, assembly, testing, and distribution. Based on the results of testing on students, using flash applications in science subjects can provide solutions to optimize student learning processes. This is evidenced by the increase in student scores by 7.275%, namely before using the application has an average value of 7.56 ± 0.726 and after using the learning media application increased to 8.11 ± 0.821.

2020
This research paper wants to identify the research objective that the effect of simulated video in biology learning for senior secondary students on academic achievement. 60 students (30 control group, 30 experimental groups) who studied at Rishi Bhumi Inter College Saurikh, Kannauj affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Senior Secondary Education Board U.P. (India) in the academic year 2018-2019 participated. In this research quantitative method was used to conducting research. The instructional material included biology subject topic “cell and development biology” concept used in simulated video teaching. The result of present research endeavour that the experimental group of students was getting more enhancement in academic achievement who were taught by simulated video than the control group of students taught by the conventional style of the teaching. Based on data analysis, the researcher finds out that the academic achievement of experimental group is more than control group.
