The purpose of this research is to examine the quality management system (QMS) practices in ISO 9001 certified engineering educational institutes (EEIs) in India. According to the literature, QMS in engineering education is primarily concerned with teaching, learning, examinations, student results, and infrastructure. In terms of organizational effectiveness, very few studies mentioned QMS. A QMS analysis was performed on forty-five EEIs located in the Delhi NCR region of India, and two groups of institutions were chosen based on the number of years they had been in operation. Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to explore the adoption of quality management practices in engineering educational institutions (EEIs) in India from management's perspective. Design/methodology/approach -A questionnaire was developed based on a literature review of research in quality management and based on the responses of the pilot survey among the senior faculty/management. The psychometric properties of this instrument were examined using tests of reliability and validity. Correlation and multiple regression analyses were used to analyze the impact of the total quality management (TQM) dimensions on institutional performance (effectiveness). Findings -Findings highlight 27 critical factors/dimensions of quality management, which analyzed the relationship between TQM dimensions and institutional performance, which has been formulated using five dimensions. Positive and significant relationships among the TQM dimensions and institutional performance have been observed. Research limitations/implications -Results of the study are dependent on the profile and number of the respondents, i.e. on the perceptions of the management. Practical implications -The paper proposes a model for achieving institutional excellence from the macro perspective of the management. Two critical factors, i.e. healthy innovative practices and feeder institution partnership have been identified as key enablers in the paper. Institutional performance (effectiveness), as a holistic construct, has been measured by five measures of performance, institution reputation and image, infrastructure quality, faculty excellence, research and industry exposure and stakeholders' satisfaction. The instrument developed can be used as a self-assessment tool in continuously measuring the overall performance of the institution's processes and systems. Originality/value -The paper focuses on EEIs. It evolved a holistic framework for institutional effectiveness and formulated a comprehensive instrument with respect to management's perceptions on quality management issues. The paper also identified five critical factors to measure institutional performance and 27 dimensions of TQM in the context of EEIs.

The technical institutes of India are seeking to create enough engineering graduates needed by employers. However, the capability to improve the quality of the average Indian engineering graduates has not yet been disclosed. The researchers of this paper suggested a critical model of integrated quality management systems (IQMS) with twenty key elements (IQMS 20-KE), which is nothing more than a package of global management concepts such as ISO 9001: 2015 QMS, ISO 14001: 2015 EMS, ISO 45001 OH & SM, Knowledge Management (KM), Lean Management (LM), 6-σ (DMAIC methodology) and TQM concepts. In general, the outcome of IQMS is to meet customer expectations and improve the work culture of the institution. Efforts have been made to elucidate the applications of IQMS model in the engineering education.

Quality education is considered to be pivotal and imperative in the present context of cut-throat competition. This has prompted higher educational institutions to go for a quality model. Responding to the stakeholders' expectations and the government's regulations, most of the engineering institutions in India have implemented one or two of the quality management concepts in a bid to maintain quality in education. In compliance with the above, a comprehensive quality model called IEQMS (Integrated Educational Quality Management System) was developed incorporating the important dimensions from the following quality concepts. The quality concepts are ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System, Occupational Health and Safety Management System, Six Sigma (Define -Measure-Analyse-Improve -Control [DMAIC] Methodology), Knowledge Management, Lean Thinking, and Total Quality Management. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the importance of the critical success factors in the implementation of the IEQMS model in Engineering Educational Institutions from the perspective of members of faculty. For this purpose, data were collected from 324 faculty members of engineering colleges in India through a structured, validated, and standardised questionnaire. The model fit was established by using the structural equation modelling technique. The findings of the research showed the goodness of the model fit.
Globally, the QMS has become a popular choice of strategic management tools in the higher education setting. In this study, the ISO Quality Management System and the benefits of the standards of this system to the education sector are exemplified through two high schools. These standards are used in the first high school in the article which examines the benefits of ISO 9001 applications to educational institutions, but not in the other. The general purpose of the study is to explain the benefits and effects of the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System standards to all ISO certified training institutions in the world. In the article, a comparative study has been carried out over 2 different high schools affiliated to the Ronaki Duhok Education Company and the compliance of the standards and the benefits are provided to the readers. According to the results of the analysis, it has been revealed with examples that ISO 9001: 2015 contributes to education institutions in many positive ways.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the Quality Management System (QMS) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) as an ISO 9001-2015 certified state college and identify the benefits derived by the college along with its certification. Process owners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and students' perceptions were validated using weighted mean and rank order statistical designs. The study revealed that they were satisfied with the customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, continual improvement, evidence-based decision-making, and systematic approach to management. As a result of the ISO certification of the college, it gained a positive image to the community and raised to competitors' level or even at a higher level, increased the quality of services, and raised staff awareness were among the positive remarks of the college stakeholders.
