The main aim of our project is to develop a "Automatic tyre inflation and deflation system" .This can be placed in all automobiles while long drives and that can be utilized while climbing uphill or down hills. It is very necessary for the every automobile to be cautious while driving through long distances. So we have fabricated this machine to fill the air automatically by using contro l units. In this project main function is suddenly the air is decreased to the automobile vehicles the sensor signal alerted to the person when the use of air tank to fill the air in the tyre. Then the air pressure is increased to the tyre in the vehicle i t is same as the process of indicating the sensor signal through the person when the use of solenoid valve to reduce the excess air in the tyre.

Tires have been modified on a regular basis since their discovery in order to improve their life and function in boosting automobile safety. . As we all know, that vehicle is an essential part of our life, because it helps us travel miles in a few minutes. The tires' air pressure needs to be maintained at an ideal level for better vehicle running and for the safety of the vehicle. SO this project was brought into account by keeping into consideration the fuel consumption, vehicular safety and comfort. This system regulates vehicle tire pressure, enhancing fuel efficiency and decreasing tire wear; as a result, tire life is extended and tire replacement time and expense are reduced. One of the key goals of implementing this system is to maintain appropriate tire pressure. The pressure gauge monitors the tire pressure and inflates it when it falls below the desired amount. This paper explains how the "Automatic tire inflation system" works, as well as its benefits and drawbacks, for researchers and new learners.
To Study on Implementation of Tyre Inflation System for Automotive Vehicles
The Tire Inflammation System is based on the idea to maintain uniform tire pressure of an automobile and to reduce tire wear, increase fuel efficiency and increased overall vehicle safety. The main working principle of the Tire Inflation System is that the compressed air is passed through the rotary joint into the nozzle fitted in Rim of the Wheel. The rotary joint thus allows the air to flow through itself along with providing the rotary motion of the wheel assembly. Thus the rotary joint makes it possible work out the idea. A compressor is used which gets its power supply from the battery. When the pressure falls below desired level the compressor pumps air through the rotary union to the Tyre and inflates it.
A Design Approach for Automatic Tyre Inflation System
In ancient time, after the discovery of wheel by man, it has been used extensively for various purposes and it is vital part of human life for ages. These wheels runs human life faster and faster with new technology and one such technology is on board air inflation system used in automobiles. Tyres are the second-highest cost for the trucking industry. The on board air inflation system is used to maintain the pressure of tyres in running condition. The environmental conditions varies according to region, seasons because of this, it require maintaining the tyres pressure for better performance according to conditions. The most important application of this system is in military vehicle. For the military vehicle, the environmental condition, land conditions are continuously varying and they have to face very worst condition like heavy rainfall, snowfall, deserts. At that remote place no such devices are available for maintenances of the tyres. At some crucial times like war conditions or any flood conditions there is no time to filling the air. Thus there arises a need for automatic tyre inflation system. This can be done by employing appropriate technique. This paper deals with the design approach of automatic tyre inflation system.
AUTOMATIC TYRE INFLATION SYSTEM IN DYNAMIC CONDITION
In today's growing world, the possibilities of road accidents of any automobile are increasing at an alarming rate. The reasons for these happenings are the puncturing of tyres, when the vehicle is at very fast speeds due to any reason and because of that the driver loses his control over the vehicle. Many studies have revealed that a drop in the tyre pressure by a few PSI results in the following: • Reduction in the fuel economy • Reduction of tyre life • Reduces safety and performance of the vehicle We have hence developed an automatic, self-inflating tyre system which will ensure that the tyres are properly inflated all the time. In our design, we have made the use of an air compressor that will store compressed air in an air tank at the desired pressure value which in turn will supply air to all the four tyres through hoses and rotary joint fixed between wheel hub and knuckle of each wheel. The use of rotary joint is to efficiently allow the air to be channelled to all the tyres without the tangling of hoses. With the current environmental issues and fast depletion of natural resources our project will successfully improve the overall fuel economy of the vehicle along with the increased tyre life and improved vehicle handling. Automatic Tyre Inflation System
2014
This project aims to develop and fabrication of an automatic tyre inflating system, this system ensures that tyres are properly inflated at all times. Roads are the most important modes of transport, now a days cars are integral part of it. Tyres lose air through normal driving-especially when run through pot holes and permeation. Considering today's ever increasing environmental threats; oil price hikes and energy consumption our system is most compatible and potential improvement in gas mileage and tyre wear reduction which leads to an increase in performance of tyre in diverse conditions. Moreover temperature changes are also one of the reason due to which tyres lose air. Thus vehicles run with an under-inflated tyre which may cause accidents. Studies show that a drop in tyre pressure by just a few PSI, can result in the reduction of gas mileage, tyre life, safety, and vehicle performance. The project aims to restore the tyre pressure on vehicles so that they are kept at optimum pressure levels, thus extending their life time at the same time saving the owner from fuel costs and maintenance cost incurred with underinflated tyres. Engineering of Tire Pressure Controlling Device: An Invention Towards Successful Product Development
Tire pressure plays an important role in ensuring safe and economical driving. Even then, many vehicles with under inflated tires are observed to be on the road due to the unawareness of the fact that properly inflated tires can safe tire life up to 20% which is nine months more of its life span. It can also save fuel from 4% to 10%, increase braking efficiency up to 20%, lightens steering system and ease self steer. Improper maintenance and operation failure of air pressure kiosks are the main reason why users seldom inflate their tires at the gas stations. Besides that, long awaiting queue at the kiosk and not knowing the exactly required tire pressure of their own vehicle is another cause for tires running with improper pressure. Therefore, a method of how to ease the users to inflate their tires is engineered and invented. Automatic Tire Pressure Controller (ATPC) has been idealized to ensure correct pressure is inflated into the tires regardless of the setting on the pressure source: e.g. kiosk, compressor, foot inflator, etc. The device will alert the user upon reaching the appropriate pressure by a hissing sound. This product attracts many users especially ladies who often being the second driver who are always unsure of the pressure of their tires.
IRJET- Auto Inflation Tyre System: A review
IRJET, 2020
Roads are one of the extremely vital methods for transport nowadays and four-wheeler are fundamental piece of it. Tires loses pneumatic force on account of normal driving extraordinarily when goes through knocks and street pits and experiences pervasion. Additionally, change in temperature are one among the reasoning gratitude to which tires lose air. Consequently, vehicles run with an under-expanded tire which can cause catastrophes or mishaps. Explores show that a fall in tire pressure even by two or three PSI causes inside the diminish of efficiency, tire life, wellbeing, and vehicle execution. The objective of this undertaking is to build up a robotized, self-blowing up tire framework. Such a framework ensures that tires are expanded appropriately at all occasions. Our framework configuration is effectively tried and actualized with assistance of an air\gas blower. The blower will give air to all or any of the four tires through hoses and a turning joint which is fixed between the shaft and wheel centre at each wheel. The Rotatory joint is a fundamental piece of the framework which has half of its part pivoting alongside the wheel and rest half part is very still. Accepting that the present each rising common dangers; ascending in oil cost and utilization of energy, our framework is well fitted and improved in mileage and diminishes tire wear which causes ascend in execution of tire in heaps of conditions.
DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF AUTOMATIC TYRE PRESSURE INFLATION SYSTEM
Industrial Engineering Journal, 2024
The main aim of our project is to achieve accurate tyre pressure. This is achieved by introducing an automated system for tyre inflation. This system checks the tyre pressure regularly and inflates automatically to the correct tyre pressure. Proper tyre inflation pressure improves fuel economy, reduces braking distance, improves handling, and increases tyre life, while underinflation creates overheating and can lead to accidents. Approximately 3/4 of all automobiles operate with at least one underinflated tyre. The main causes of underinflation are natural leakage, temperature changes, and road hazards. Drivers typically do not check tyre pressure unless they notice unusual vehicle performance. Visual checks are often insufficient to determine under-inflation. In 2000, the U.S. Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability, and Documentation Act (TREAD) requested that the National Highway Transport Safety Authority (NHTSA) investigate the implementation of a pressure drop warning system on vehicles. Beginning with 2006 models, all passenger cars and trucks in the United States are required to have tyre-pressure inflation systems (TPMSs). A TPMS is a driver-assist system that warns the driver when the tyre pressure is below or above the prescribed limits.
