Implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) PT. Sari Lembah Subur to the Community of Genduang Village

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is one of the obligations that must be carried out under the contents of article 74 of the new Law of Limited Liability Company (UUPT) of 2007. PT. Sari Lembah Subur is an extensive farm area of ​​about 450 ha. Besides managing its own plantation, it also processes palm oil products from smallholder plantations around the company. The company purchases palm fresh fruit bunch (FFB) from smallholder plantations/farmers as one of its CSR programs. In addition, several CSR programs carried out by the company are related to social and environmental matters so that the image of PT. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) should address the concerns of stakeholders toward its business activities and the social, economic, and environmental changes that CSR brings to the community. This study analyzes the impact of the CSR dimensions on community well-being (CWB). The measured CSR dimensions are economic, legal, and ethical aspects, including philanthropy. By contrast, CWB involves the social aspects, economic empowerment, and the environment. A total of 490 respondents from the local community answered survey questionnaires, while Smart PLS.3.0 is used for data analysis. Results of the structural model analysis identified a significant, positive, and direct relationship between CSR and CWB. The implications of this study establish an important link between the CSR and CWB dimensions.

This study aims to build the implementation model of CSR from the existing companies in Manado and Minahasa, North Sulawesi-Indonesia. The research used qualitative method. After data are collected, the analysis process begins. There are three phases to data analysis such as data reduction, data presentation and model building. The collected data are reduced according to the implementation of CSR and bring up many themes. Based on these themes, the data are presented and the process to draw conclusion is begun and finally the model is built. To implement their CSR, companies build the concept themes of CSR implementation, provide the CSR funds, and prepare the programs and reports. Business ethics, good corporate governance, compliance in regulation and benefit to society and environment become the concept of CSR implementation. The programs such as charity, philanthropy and community development activities which are done as routine and non routine activities in the short term or long term programs. The funding of these activities needs to be budgeted from their internal policy. The reports include CSR activity reports, financial and annual reports. Therefore, the model is built from the element of concept, funds, programs and reports on their CSR implementation.

Analyzing the Effectiveness of a Joint Corporate Social Responsibility Program to Empower People in an Indonesian Village

As enforced by the Indonesian government, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is mandatory for Indonesian companies. This paper presents a case analysis of a CSR program jointly managed by a company and a foundation. The program was implemented in Ancol Pasir Village in South Tanggerang, an area with a potential for bamboo-webbing craft. In this paper, the authors analyze the extent to which the program has been effective. Action research, with four main stages (planning, acting, developing, and reflecting), was conducted. It included narrative analysis based on observations and interviews. The analysis shows that there are gaps between the program expectations and the actual implementation, suggesting that the program was not effective. At the end, the authors provide suggestions on how the program could improve. A distribution network for the bamboo webbing community is also provided. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND COMMUNITY WELFARE (A Study in Nickel Mining Company in Kolaka Regency Southeast Sulawesi

The objectives of this research : (1) Assess understanding of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) by the community, government, non-governmental organizations and companies. (2) Assess the effect of implementing a CSR program on improving the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the target community in trying productive economy. (3) Formulate a model of community economic empowerment based on the variables studied which are suitable for the implementation of CSR by companies in Southeast Sulawesi. The informants in this study were those who knew the process of giving and distributing CSR of nickel mining companies in Kolaka Regency. The parties in question are (1) Local Government, (2) Company parties, (3) Communities and (4) Non-Governmental Organizations. The results of the study show: (1) The low understanding of CSR management, especially by the community and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) due to their lack of involvement in the formulation of CSR programs, the formulation of CSR programs results in their low understanding. This resulted in the community tending to perceive CSR as a donation aid not on understanding the use of CSR in improving sustainable living standards for the community. (2) The distributed CSR program has not yet had an impact on increasing knowledge, skills and other productive economic activities because the CSR programs provided are not in accordance with the needs and expectations of the community, especially in increasing the productive economic activities of the community. (3) A good management model based on the findings of this study is to apply a fair and participatory participatory CSR model, so that the community, NGOs. The government and company must sit together in formulating a CSR program in accordance with the needs of a just society that is imbued with the spirit of the Pancasila.
