The ISO 9001 standards were developed to achieve the customer satisfaction. The ISO 9001standard is the most popular standard of quality management system around the world wide organizations. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the diverse barriers that impede implementation of ISO 9001 within service and manufacturing industries in Pakistan through an empirical study. To conduct this study a long literature review was carried out and relevant information has been collected to collect the data. ISO 9001 Implementation Barriers and Misconceptions: An Empirical Study

Despite the widespread use of ISO 9001 and the many certified organizations in the Arab countries, only five Iraqi organizations were ISO certified at the end of 2008. The purpose of this empirical study is to examine the various barriers and misconceptions that impede ISO 9001 implementation in the service and manufacturing sectors in Iraq. In order to identify these factors a structured survey was conducted using a random sample of 50 directors in service and manufacturing organizations in Baghdad. The analysis of the survey revealed nine important factors that hinder the implementation of the standards; lack of top management commitment heads the list. In addition, ten misconceptions were identified by this study, including the top ranked belief that ISO 9001 uncovers job security. The study suggested the need to formulate a national strategy to meet the emerging ISO requirements which will enable Iraqi organizations to achieve superior quality of goods and services. This study contributes to the body of knowledge in the area of quality management systems with particular interest on Iraq. The findings of this work are limited by the sample surveyed and the geographical limits, however, the findings reached carry many implications for policy-makers in Iraq.

The Effect of ISO 9001 Quality Management System on Education Institutions (A Case Study of Ronaki Duhok Education Company in Iraq)

In this study, the ISO Quality Management System and the benefits of the standards of this system to the education sector are exemplified through two high schools. These standards are used in the first high school in the article which examines the benefits of ISO 9001 applications to educational institutions, but not in the other. The general purpose of the study is to explain the benefits and effects of the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System standards to all ISO certified training institutions in the world. In the article, a comparative study has been carried out over 2 different high schools affiliated to the Ronaki Duhok Education Company and the compliance of the standards and the benefits are provided to the readers. According to the results of the analysis, it has been revealed with examples that ISO 9001: 2015 contributes to education institutions in many positive ways.

Building ISO 9000 based quality management systems in education : the case of the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM Shah Alam / Norhana Salamudin, Noraini Ismail and Hazman Shah Abdullah

This study examines a managerial innovation involving developing, implementing and accrediting a quality management system based on the ISO 9000 international standard. There is moderate correlation between interest in managerial innovation and perceived value. Implementation strategy/approach shows a relatively high correlation with perceived value. Staff reaction to innovation is connected to their interest and perceived value towards personal and institutional development, and growth. The multiple regression analysis shows that the model explains /5% to 19% ofthe variance in innovation acceptance with interest being the only significant variable. The moderating role of implementation prior to the exercise was examined via the hierarchical regression analysis. The results indicate that implementation strategy interacts with the interest variable enhancing the explanatory power to 24%. Factors Affecting Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in manufacturing Sector

ISO 9001 mainly thrust on the commitment of top management of the organization as far as quality management system is concerned, as per the guidelines it is the duty of top management to define a crystal clear polity for quality maintenance and also there should be clarity of responsibility and authority among the people involved in the same. Main objective of this paper is to identify the significant factors which barriers in implementation of ISO 9001:2015. In depth literature was conducted from where 29 general factors were found. A survey (Qualitative) was conducted from top managerial officials from manufacturing sector to determine significant factors. On basis of mean value total 11 significant factors were found which were related to manufacture sector in Pakistan. This study will be helpful for the managerial staff and officials to control identified factors for implementation of ISO.

Critical Analysis of the Applicability of the ISO 9001 Standard in Higher Education Institutions

This paper analyses the applicability of the ISO 9001 standard in higher education institutions (HEIs). The ISO 9001standard, initially developed for application in industry, sets the requirements for implementing a quality management system (QMS) in an organisation. Over the years, the standard has been adapted to the higher education (HE) sector as a model for quality assurance and enhancement. In this study, the standard is analysed based on a framework with the following variables; 1) Importance of the philosophy of the standard in HE, 2) Suitability to HE, 3) Ease of implementation, 4) Effect on quality assurance and enhancement and 5) Effect on quality culture. The mechanisms of how the standard affects quality management are also presented. The analysis shows that ISO 9001 is based on a philosophy that resonates with general approaches to quality assurance in HEIs. Recommendations for the Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in the Manufacturing Industry of Pakistan

ISO 9001:2015 is known as the highest quality management standard, enhancing customer and company satisfaction. While the manufacturing industry is playing a vital role in Pakistan's GDP, the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 is not widespread. This study aims to examine the factors that hinder the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in Pakistan's manufacturing industry and recommend suggestions to overcome them. An in-depth literature review identified 32 general factors that hinder the implementation of ISO 9001:2015. A structured questionnaire was designed and distributed to 135 respondents to examine the factors hindering the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in Pakistan's manufacturing industry. The gathered data were analyzed using the average index formula, and 8 significant factors were identified. These factors were used in the design of a semi-structured questionnaire distributed among high qualified and experienced respondents working in top managerial posts of manufacturing industries in Pakistan. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings can be helpful in the determination of recommendations regarding the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in the manufacturing industries of Pakistan.

The Impact of Implementing Quality Management System (ISO 9001: 2008) on the Job Performance of Employees at Najran University

This research aimed to assess the impact of implementation of ISO 9001: 2008 on the job performance of employees in the Vice Presidency for Development & Quality – Najran University (VPDQ-NU). Researchers used a Quasi-experimental and descriptive method. For the Quasi-experimental method, the total sample size was (15 employee) who Stayed in the job for two consecutive years (2012/2013, 2013/2014) and received their evaluation of job performance from VPDQ-NU. For the descriptive method, researchers used the results of Internal Audit action records and designed a questionnaire to achieve research objectives. Twenty-two employees in VPDQ-NU responded to the questionnaire. The Impact of the Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 on the Quality Management System in Various Company Sectors

Quality management systems need to be considered because they can improve the quality of systems, services or goods. A company needs to get international recognition stating that the products and systems used are in accordance with the standards. The international standard used to measure the quality management system is ISO 9001:2015 with consistent implementation. ISO 9001:2015 has both positive and negative impacts on the quality management system. The type of research used is descriptive analysis by describing the situation that has occurred based on previous research. The data were analyzed qualitatively in terms of the percentage value of each variable. This study aims to summarize and seek new research opportunities related to the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in various business sectors. The research was conducted by conducting a literature review on 19 articles related to the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 which were published in the last decade and then analyzed and drew conclusions. Based on the study of various previous studies in this paper, it is known that the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 is known to have a positive effect on the organization.
