Performing Shakespeare in modern times is an act of mediation between characters and actors, creating channels between geocultural spaces and time periods. The multiplicity of the plural term global Shakespeares helps us push back against deceivingly harmonious images of Shakespeare’s ubiquitous presence. Adaptations accrue nuanced meanings as they move through physical and digital spaces, gaining cultural significance by paying homage to or remediating previous interpretations. As a transhistorical and intermedial practice, global Shakespeares have been deployed to revitalize performance genres, resist colonial appendage, exemplify social reparation. This chapter investigates methodologies for transhistorical inquiry into culturally fluid, contemporary adaptations of early modern texts in relation to digital cultures. In juxtaposing the ways in which localities create site-specific meanings, and the ways in which cultural meanings are dispersed and reframed through ever-evolving forms of digital engagement, this chapter outlines the future challenges and opportunities for contemporary global performances.

Online harassment of women journalists imposes self-censorship and threatens women's participation in online journalism. This is of grave concern for the development of freedom of speech and plurality in the media (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe [OSCE], 2019). Part of this issue's complexity was summarised by the IFJ Deputy General Secretary, Jeremy Dear: "In some parts of the world, it's a result of what women write and in others it's because of the mere fact that they write" (2017). Perhaps more often, these two motivational factors are working together creating a significantly more threatening environment

Book burning and image destruction representations in the art of the Spanish Golden Age
The activities of the Spanish Inquisition on censorship of both books and artistic images were often executed until their final consequences, such as the destruction of those works that transgressed the limits of orthodoxy. The aim of this paper is to analyze these acts of censorship promoted by the Inquisition during Spanish Golden Age through a way rarely explored to date: images, both literary and plastic where book burning and image destruction acts are depicted. Thus, the analysis of these representations will be the theme of this study. The visual concretions of inquisitorial acts of disapproval, will allow a new analysis of the phenomenon of censorship through the images born in the same cultural context. Further, this method undertakes an original approach to the issue, overcoming the classical approach based on the inquisitorial documentation, adding the contributions of the perspective of literature and the arts, to the view of censorship and punishment acts, witnessed by Spanish Golden Age writers and artists.
