Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts believe Nick Knowles may have hung up his dancing shoes permanently after spotting a few telling signs from the DIY SOS star. While observing this weekend's live show from the audience, Nick was unable to perform owing to a second injury sustained during his spell on the BBC favourite.
His first injury occurred as he suffered a shoulder setback amidst changing a car tire by the roadside. On BBC2's It Takes Two, presenting with his arm in a sling, he recounted the "painful" incident that interrupted his journey to a family do for his birthday on September 22, yet he was given the all-clear to dance in that week's show.
Subsequent to disclosing his further ailment and its severity, compelling him to pause his Strictly stint, Nick took to sharing: "During our first dress rehearsal today, or run-through of the dance number on the stage, unfortunately I damaged my knee and it's quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI."
His dance partner Luba Mushtuk also commented: "Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and we'll be back on the dance floor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we'll be back and see you guys very soon.", reports the Mirror.
In a determination to return, Knowles declared, "even if we have to glitter up the crutches, I am determined to get back and try and dance for you next week." Nick has smoothly glided into the third week of the BBC's hit dance contest despite sitting out Movie Week, but all eyes are on It Takes Two tonight for an eagerly anticipated health update, with Strictly devotees fearing the worst for him.
Die-hard fans reckon they've pieced together the puzzle of Nick's destiny after picking up on online spoilers. A fan speculated on social media: "It looks like has withdrawn from #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing. The routines for Week 4 have just been revealed and he's not on the list."
The official Strictly Facebook account kept the suspense high as it teased the line-ups without confirming Nick's status, stating: "We will update you with more news on Nick when we have it."
This hint dropped a bombshell of speculation within the fanbase, leading to witty predictions, with one fan jesting: "I think the lack of tunes on Tuesday suggests that they don't know whether Nick will be able to dance yet."
Top judge Shirley Ballas spilled the latest on Nick's predicament this Monday. Shirley divulged that he was 'possibly on the mend' during her appearance on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio UK.
She then confessed she "wasn't sure" what injuries he had sustained. She continued: "We are hoping that by the weekend he will be back because he is an asset to the show."
