�Barracuda� is a homecoming tale in a way, opening as a story of a reunion between sisters before it develops into so much more. It�s set in Austin, Texas, and keeping the film sufficiently weird are directors Jason Cortlund and Julia Halperin, who invest in a slow-burn sensation of discovery, asking audiences to be patient with a movie that gradually evolves from a relationship saga to a horror endeavor, but not in an obvious, blood-and-guts way. �Barracuda� is sinister stuff, smartly conceived and executed by the helmers, who conjure darkness without announcing it, using the power of folk mu ...read more...
