Cowboys & Aliens was poised to be this year's District 9 - a high minded, late summer science fiction movie with an emphasis on character of computer generated explosions. But a funny thing happened on the way to the prairies, and the film ended up a colossal disappointment � a mishmash of jagged edges and inexplicable plot contrivances. The movie starts off well enough � Jake Lonergan (Daniel Craig) wakes up in the middle of nowhere.
