Desi was a Cuban-born American musician, actor, television producer, writer, and director. He is best remembered for his role as Ricky Ricardo on the television series I Love Lucy. Desi was also internationally renowned for leading his Latin music band, the Desi Arnaz Orchestra. Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball and are credited as the inventors of the television show rerun. I Love Lucy being the first show to broadcast an episode previously broadcast for another run at a later date. Desi is also credited as a pioneer in television broadcasting as coming up with the three camera technique in which shows still use today. Using more than one camera to film so that many different angles of the same scene can be achieved.
