I think for most people, at least in film circles, the name Hampton Fancher only has meaning as the screenwriter of �Blade Runner� and the director of �The Minus Man,� which featured advertising that reinforced his creative control. �Escapes� is a love letter to the real man, with director Michael Almereyda creating a documentary to celebrate Fancher�s expansive life.
