Three childhood friends from New York's tough Tenderloin District are reunited as adults in 1911 and form a romantic triangle: Ross (Chester Morris) has become a professional gambler; Mike (Russell Hayden) is now a policeman; and Mary (Nancy Kelly) makes her living as a show girl. An already strained situation becomes much more complicated when Ross becomes involved in a shady business deal that impacts all their lives.
