Alex Proyas doesn�t direct very often, and when he does, it�s usually a disappointment. Building a reputation with his work on �The Crow� and �Dark City,� Proyas suddenly turned around and pursued mediocrity with �Garage Days,� �I, Robot,� and �Knowing.� It�s not an encouraging batting average, taking another percentage dip with �Gods of Egypt,� a garish attempt to explore ancient myth with video game sensibilities, with Proyas blasting the screen with enough CGI to make a �Transformers� sequel blush.
