Despondent and recently widowed, Laura Andrews leaves her young son to be discovered in a basket at a laundry service run by the Bowery Boys out of the back of their sweetshop hangout. While Slip and Sach try to find Laura, who has been institutionalized against her will, her late husband's aunts Hope and Faith enlist neighborhood gangster Mason to keep her from inheriting their nephew's fortune.
