�Hungry Hearts� is an unusual horror film. It doesn�t deal with poltergeists, zombies, or monsters, only the terrifying realm of marital manipulation. It�s a war zone where every word is a weapon and every action of protection a betrayal. As disturbing as any chainsaw massacre, �Hungry Hearts� deals in sinister business, inspecting depression and subtle acts of submission that register with realism, even as director Saverio Costanzo gradually pushes the illness into more cinematic areas of suspense.
