Orphan Jane Eyre is sent to the cruel school institution of Lowood. When she leaves, she takes a position at Thornfield Hall as governess to Adele, a girl in the charge of Thornfield's owner, Edward Rochester. Fully aware of her low rank and plain countenance, she makes the best of her situation. Despite mysterious occurrences, she and Rochester end up falling in love. But soon a dark secret comes to light.
