10 year old Jojo takes a young jackdaw (in Dutch a Kauw) to his home. He hides it from his father as he doesn't want animals in the house. Jojo is afraid he gets inbetween his aggressive moods an his loyalty towards his father. Until the bomb explodes. Because of the extraordinary frienship with the jackdaw he is able solve the problems with his father.
