The American dysfunctional family film receives a European makeover from Norwegian director Joachim Trier, who last helmed the critically praised �Oslo, August 31st.� It�s never the expanse of plot that defines this type of viewing experience, but the depth of pain, and �Louder Than Bombs� does a commendable job juggling character misery, trying to blur connective tissue long enough for the effort to become a mystery of sorts.
