At just 15, Mar�a has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Forced to look through trash for food to feed herself and her godmother, Mar�a should be relieved when she's taken in by Don Fernando de la Vega, but as it turns out, Victoria de la Vega and the younger Soraya deeply detest her presence and manage to make sure her stay is as unpleasant as possible. Things get even more complicated when Mar�a finds herself falling for someone close to home, setting an ongoing series of dramatic events into motion.
