Last year, writer/director Ari Aster impressed horror fans with �Hereditary,� delivering an eerie meditation on loss mixed with demonic cult theatrics. I wasn�t as thrilled with the feature, finding its insistence on shock value more numbing than chilling, but Aster did manage to pull something special out of star Toni Collette, who delivered the best performance of her career.
