When her mother disappears while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, June's search for answers is hindered by international red tape. Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try and find her before it's too late. However, as she digs ever deeper, her digital sleuthing soon raises more questions than answers.

�Missing� is not a sequel to 2018�s �Searching,� but the pictures share a universe where detective work is carried out on computers, giving traditional sleuthing a screen update. The new film is a desktop thriller that attempts to build on what �Searching� started, changing up the central mystery while maintaining a heated look at clicking and calling as a young woman fights to learn more about her mother�s disappearance.
