Adaptation of Gore Vidal's satirical sex-change novel, starring Raquel Welch. Shy Myron Breckinridge (Rex Reed) decides to go to Europe to get a sex change, where he meets a disreputable doctor who transforms him into the glamorous Myra (Welch). Travelling back to the USA, Myra passes herself off as Myron's widow and demands her share of the inheritance from her uncle Buck Loner (John Huston).
