Schoolgirls Yukie, Mutsumi, and Akiko lock their classmate Yuko in the gym equipment room as a mean joke. Though they eventually let her out, Yuko stops coming to school after the incident. Soon, Yukie begins to have strange nightmares about Yuko. After one such dream, she wakes up to find that Mutsumi has suddenly died of a heart attack in class. A few days later, Yukie has a similar dream and Akiko dies. Afraid that she's the next to go, Yukie goes to the Nightmare Detective for help. Himself plagued by nightmares about his mother, he enters Yukie dreams to confront the root of fear itself.
