On the first day of school, the students of Matsuura Nishi's fifth grade-class three got a big surprise when they discover that their teacher is Akao, a handicapped man born without arms and legs. After the initial shock, the children begin to warm up to Akao and open up to him about their problems. With the help of supportive school board member Shiraishi, Akao comes up with unusually effective ways to help his students.
