Remakes are a common occurrence these days, but the horror genre is practically stuffed with do-overs. Easy to assemble and market, rehashes, or reimaginings, often disappoint, never quite living up to their original inspiration. �Patrick: Evil Awakens� is an update of a 1978 �ozploitation� classic, largely considered to be one of the best chillers to emerge from Australia. Armed with a brand name and movie geek recognition, the producers have elected to mount �Patrick� once again, using contemporary fright film mechanics to sell a familiar tale.
