In wartime London, top detective Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and his trusty sidekick Dr Watson (Nigel Bruce) set out to retrieve a vital bombsight which has fallen into the hands of the Nazis. They find themselves up against none other than Holmes' arch-enemy, the evil Moriarty (Lionel Atwill).
